Christina Dodd Titillates with an Excerpt of DANGER IN A RED DRESS!
DANGER IN A RED DRESS is on the shelves!
And to whet your appetite, here’s a special excerpt:
The phone ran in Hannah’s bedroom, and she rushed to pick it up.
“Hi, it’s Trent Sansoucy of Sansoucy Security.” His rich voice stirred the hair at the base of her neck.
“Is there something wrong? With the security for tomorrow’s party, I mean?” Because she was in bed for the night, but she could get dressed in a hurry. Nurses were like cops. They rose to the occasion.
“Everything’s fine. My job is not the only reason I call a beautiful woman.”
“But … we’ve never met face-to-face. You don’t know what I look like.”
“I’m in security. I know your deepest secrets.” He sounded droll and self-deprecating. “Besides, I can imagine what you look like, can’t I?”
Since she’d been imagining what he looked like every time they’d talked, she had to agree.
“Do you know the fantasies I’ve had about nurses?” he asked.
“I can imagine, and they’re not true,” she said with finality.
“No. Please.” His voice deepened. “Don’t crush my dreams.”
She rubbed her hands over her bare arms. She had to remember, no matter how great this guy’s voice was and how well he flirted, he was probably old and bald and overweight and wore paisley-print socks. And married. He was probably married.
“I suppose the best part of taking care of security at parties is the food. I mean, you do eat, don’t you?” Subtle. That was subtle, Hannah.
His voice turned very serious. “No. Part of this security job is making sure the bad guys don’t get in, and the other part is being able to chase them down if they show up. Fitness is important to me.”
And there she had it. Trent was buff.
But probably still old, married and bald. Although not too old, or how would he chase down those bad guys?
As if she’d asked the question, he said, “I’m thirty-three. I figure I’ve got another fifteen years of field work.” His voice turned humorous. “Of course, if I get married, my wife might have something to say about my hours.”
“You’re not married?” She thought she sounded light and airy.
In contrast, he sounded very serious. “No, Hannah. I’m not married.”
She pumped her fist in the air.
“Nor am I bald.”
She jumped so hard she dropped the phone. She scrabbled around in the covers, retrieved it, and put it to her ear. “B…bald?”
“Isn’t that what women always worry about? Whether a guy is bald?”
“Don’t forget about the paisley print socks,” she muttered.

Christina Dodd Announces the DANGER IN A RED DRESS Video!
“>
I’m proud to announce DANGER IN A RED DRESS got the Top Pick from Romantic Times Magazine! The review said, “Dodd neatly dovetails the conclusions of two of her series with this romantic thriller. At long last Gabriel Prescott gets his story as the saga of the Prescott siblings and the Manly brothers comes to a climatic close. The jeopardy is real and the passion intense. You always get your money’s worth with a Dodd book!”
Yes, it’s true. On March 3, DANGER IN A RED DRESS will hit the shelves and all your questions will be answered, because DANGER IN A RED DRESS wraps up the Lost Texas Hearts series (JUST THE WAY YOU ARE, ALMOST LIKE BEING IN LOVE, and CLOSE TO YOU) and the Fortune Hunters series (TROUBLE IN HIGH HEELS, TONGUE IN CHIC, and THIGH HIGH.)
I’ve prepared a titillating video for you. View it at Barnesandnoble.com, then order DANGER IN A RED DRESS.
Or view it at Amazon.com, then order DANGER IN A RED DRESS.
As a bonus, DANGER IN A RED DRESS contains the never-before-seen excerpt of STORM OF VISIONS, the first book in my new paranormal series, the Chosen Ones, coming in July!
Heh, heh. You’ve got every reason to love DANGER IN A RED DRESS!
Warmly,
Christina Dodd

RECOMMENDED READING AND VIEWING
I don’t read a lot of non-fiction but I have a total literary crush on Rick Bragg and his latest--THE PRINCE OF FROGTOWN--only made me fall more deeply in love with this soft-spoken Southern boy with the quicksilver tongue and pen. My “comfort read” for the month was a fresh and delightful journey through Judith McNaught’s classic historical ALMOST HEAVEN.
On my “most anticipated book” list, fellow Squawker Connie Brockway tops the charts this month as she releases SO ENCHANTED, her first historical romance in four years!
While recovering from some minor surgery, I finally had the chance to watch the first two seasons of VERONICA MARS. My pal Elizabeth Bevarly had given it a glowing review, telling me it was that rare worthy companion to BUFFY. I was definitely not disappointed! The show is now high up on my list of all-time faves and I’m saving Season 3 for another rainy day.
I’m mourning the loss of STARGATE:ATLANTIS this month...sniff...sniff…
Sci-Fi has decided to cancel the series after only five seasons so they can concentrate on direct-to-DVD movies. Since I just discovered the show a few months ago, I feel particularly robbed. If you’re a sci-fi buff but haven’t caught this show, I HIGHLY recommend it. There’s a reason so much of the fan base is female. Several reasons in fact, including Colonel John Sheppard, Ronin (who was a great inspiration when I was writing Connor for SOME LIKE IT WILD) and even everybody’s favorite neurotic genius Dr. Rodney McKay.
While your thoughts are turning to romance (and chocolate) this month, I hope you’ll take some time to cuddle up with a wonderful book that celebrates the second most irresistible of all human delights—LOVE!
Hugs,
Teresa
