Christina Dodd asks you to fill in THE POLL

Wrong with Romance Novels Today

What is wrong with romance novels today?

Not enough romance — I don’t feel the couple fall in love
Not enough sexual tension — couple falls too quickly into bed
Not enough time spent getting to know hero and heroine as fully rounded characters
Issues faced by the hero and heroine aren’t big enough to make me care whether they overcome them
No sense that this hero and this heroine are destined for and can only love each other
Hero is too wimpy, not alpha enough
Hero is too alpha and domineering
Hero has no integrity and/or doesn’t stand for anything
Hero runs from his feelings and is afraid to love
Heroine does stupid things to advance the plot
Heroine doesn’t take charge of her destiny
Heroine is a virgin
Heroine is too experienced sexually
Sex scenes have no emotion, just a recitation of physical acts
Too many sex scenes
Not enough sex scenes
Cover art doesn’t portray novel correctly
Too many novels are part of a series — the author fails to focus on the main couple because she’s introducing the next book
No variety in settings and genre (too many English Regencies, too many paranormals)
