Ooooh, I hadn’t heard about that book but it sounds really cool - next time I order books I’ll have to get it.

ooooo what kind of articles do they have for the visual arts and music?

This sounds like a ton of fun to read. Are there a lot of quotes in it, too?

Hey,Laura T-- a smatttering of music and visual art facts. Handle’s first opera, Rinaldo, featured live sparrows being released into the audience during the “forest scene.”

Vincent Van Gogh’s last words? “Sadness will last forever.”

Not so many quotes in the book,.

I immediately thought of the book as a gift too, Laura T. I have a friend whose birthday is in early February who is difficult to buy for, but he will LOVE this book. I’m headed to the bookstore today too. Thanks for the idea, Connie. Great blog!

Isn’t it great when reading can spur on the family conversations? I love it when that happens! We have been doing the UN-game now for sometime, and we really enjoy the thought-provoking questions (not too thought provoking!)..this looks great, too!

Add me to the list.  Sounds to me like the perfect “bathroom book.”

I’m serious.  Where else can you sit in peace and get a little culture?

My dad would love this..and my aunt, my sister, my friend…

J--off to get her Border’s coupon.

Connie!  “Orts”?????  You should do a word a day calender type thing on your website.  You’ve got the best damn vocabulary.

This book sounds just like something my ex-mother in law would like and since her birthday is coming up and I can NEVER think of anything to get her, it’s a match made in heaven.  Thank you, Connie!

Do you think buying a copy for me also would be too awfully bad?!?  ohh

This sounds really interesting.  I’m going to have to make a trip to the bookstore.  I have never bought or read a book like that.  Time to spread my horizons!

I have a question......
I changed ISP’s today, and my email is different. Do I re-register to get the updates? Or will they come to the new email automatically since I’m posting???

I just bought this book with the last of my Borders Christmas bucks. I’m writing a novel about a crime scene cleaner, and when I picked the book up off the table, I opened it up to the page on blood. You gotta love it when the universe speaks to you that way.

It’s the way it gets people talking that’s so cool.
