I remembered two more.  Linda Howard and Elizabeth Lowell.  They both wrote historicals first when they exited category and went into single-title land.  Then, of course, they switched to big contemps.

And, Connie, sweetiebabyhoneycookie, I’m gonna eat your dust once you’re in my territory.  And the sad thing is, I’m going to LIKE it.
