Well, Christina spilled the beans over at RBL and invited us over to have a peek. You may be verra sorry !
Hey, how come Connie gets to moderate the comments? What if she doesn’t like me...? Naw, she does because I buy her books .

Squawk on !
Eloisa,
I love squak radio! What a great idea. I love what you said about TSTL in Garwood’s books. It really is too true, and I love it when the heroine grows throughout the novel. sort of like an inner journey from silly to sinfully deadly. Oh and on Christina Dodd’s cover, Just The Way You Are, I swear that necklace is from Tiffany’s(the Elsa Peretti heart pendant)they got me with a desirable object on the cover there:O).

The TSTL character, I havent run into any that I know of.. I think i have read just one horrible book that I thought was going to be great in reading the excerpt only to find out it was horrible. I flung that book across the room then traded it in. Now, that has to b bad. i save everythign I have ever read and books are almost taking over my home. I have a shed in the back filled to the roof with boxes of books.
I think sometimes the only compliant i would have is that.. I get sick of all the heroines being “the most beautiful” I think this has improved with time.. but for a while.. every book I read had the heroine as the prettiest girl anywhere.. meaning the so so girls had no life and prettier is better..
Like I said, this has improved with time..
I like the characters that are ok looking.. kinda clutzy, never says the right thing.. and always falls for the wrong guy.. ok no thats me.. LOL
Ok shutting up now..but before I go.. I have read almost everything every author on this list has written..well except for the last year.. the only thing I’ve been reading is nursing school books..or if I cant find it .. I cant read it.. but anyhow… glad to be here and reading the blogs.. at least these I can read before school.
(sorry for blabbing away so much.. eep.. )
And I can safetly say from what I just said.. when I write my RPG character of course she is beautiful.. or how could the warriro who loves her like.. her.. arghghghghhghg I just made myself a big hypocrite.
But .. they are vampires.. isnt it said somewhere that vampires have to be beautiful??
Ok going back into my hole again.

I’ve always considered a TSTL heroine as a contradiction in terms. She can be an innocent kept ignorant by a suffocating family or society or she can be mentally challenged or she can be so self-centered it never enters her head that SHE might be at risk because after all, she’s who she is! A good writer can make these ladies interesting, fun and sympathetic and keep the reader a happy camper. What I have yet to find is a writer who can take a TRUE TSTL female, one who DELIBERATELY refuses to learn and grow, and make her into anything but the villainess or else end up with a story most readers will wallbang after chapter 5.
