That’s, uh, some tea...where can I get some?

I won’t lie.  Total fangirl here.  Love the Brotherhood.  Loved Butch.  Want more.  Much, much more.  The vamps are sizzling hot, and I wouldn’t mind being any one of their shellans.  Just did a re-read of “Dark Lover” and plan on hitting the other 3 before LU.  Hot stuff, J.R.  Keep up the good work LOL.

J.R., I have a mug of King Cole tea nearby, which is not making me crazy yet. I highly recommend it. Stay away from that Kitty creature.

I recently bought Lover Revealed but have not read any of the previous books. Am I going to be lost? Will you tell me I have to go and buy your whole backlist? *g*

I started reading JR Ward’s books since I’ve been on maternity leave and I’ve devoured the first three so far.  I’m forcing myself to save ‘Lover Revealed’ for my sojourn on the maternity ward, which might turn out to be a mistake as I may never have time to read again once the little guy makes his appearance!  But I digress.

I am a major fan of Rhevenghe (did I spell that right?).  When will he be getting his own story?  Any clues on who will be his lady love (i.e. have we met her yet, hint, hint)?

Hey JR!!  I’m going to be quite fangirly here and admit that I’m a massive fan of yours and am loving the Brotherhood.  I first found out about your books in a blog here last year about Zsadists novel.  While I’m looking forward to V’s novel Phury is my absolute favourite, please tell me his HEA is going to be worth all the heartache he’s going through at the minute.  Butch’s book lived up to all my expectations, which you have helped make quite high.  So, I just want to say thanks for many hours of pleasurable reading and many more to come.

P.S.  Maybe Kitty should interview some of the Brotherhood??

Sarah, I hope all goes well for you and the baby!  And Rehvenge absolutely gets his own book although I can’t tell you anything about his mate.  I’m on the down low for that- but she has made a brief appearance!  The other folks who get leads are John Matthew, Tohrment, Payne and Rehv.  But then there’s Qhuinn and Blay… and a few more.

As for the Brothers making an appearance, I’d have to say no.  I wouldn’t subject the lovely ladies here to that kind of male one-upmanship!  LOL

Thanks for spending a couple of days with us.  I also started reading the Brothers’ books thanks to your last visit to Squawk Radio.  Now I am an addict!  They are wonderful.  Count me another fangirl.

Question:  I think the Black Dagger Brotherhood series would make amazing feature films IF the script stayed true to your books.  Are movies a possibility someday?

Sinead thank you for your kindness!  OMG Phury totally gets his HEA.  And I LOVE who he ends up with.  I will say though… jeez, it’s a hard road for him for a while.  But as his book is right after V’s at least it doesn’t last forever.

One of the things that really fascinates me in the books is the relationship between Phury and Z.  It’s interesting to watch it evolve as both of them find love.

And you know, Z… Z is SO supportive of Phury’s mate.  It’s really great to see…

And as for Phury and Z, sigh, that scene in Havers’ where they fall asleep on the same bed?  Packed full of emotion, so the fact that Z is supportive of Phury’s mate??  Wow.  It’s great to hear, I’m so happy with your answer I’m not even going to ask any more questions, just sigh dreamily at the thought of Z and Bella and Phury and his shellan having dinner together, or just sitting together as a foursome, relaxed and enjoying each other.......

Huge! Huge fan here! I have even shared the first books with some co-workers and they are now hooked too! I rushed out when the latest hit the stores and my co-workers were coming up to me on an hourly basis asking if I had finished with it yet!

Butch’s story was GREAT! So many plot twists and turns and it leaves you pondering many future questions! Hmm…

Do you have a release date for the next book? And do you write under another name?

It seems that everytime I look forward to reading another book, all that does it get me crazy for the next.

And Butch’s book went beyond my expectations too, which now raises the bar for the rest of the series, Mz Ward   ...... and raises the anxiety for those of us clamoring for the rest of the series.

What’s the appeal do you think? What do you love about this world, these out-of-this-world, characters?

The Brotherhood are an addiction, one with no real downside.  I can’t think when I’ve enjoyed a series so much.

I got introduced to your books via reccomendations from SR.  Your stories are compelling - I always feel like I have to keep reading to find out what happens next.  I love your portrayal of Z (& Phury) and the redemption that is found for him.  I have a hard time reading of abuse or its victims and I appreciate the hope & healing for showed for Z in LA --- can’t wait for Phury’s story.  Question I had after reading LR --- (hope this isn’t a spoiler) --- Butch’s new role is in fulfillment to a prophecy regarding the Omega and its battle w/ the vampire race suggests that there is a finite existence for the Omega and its power . . . does the same apply to the Scribe Virgin?  I was under the impression that they both were immortal beings.  So - does the prophecy mean the Omega’s power is finite or just his existence?  Just wondering . . . AND am going to run circles in my head wondering who Rhev gets his HEA with (I thought the scene w/ him from LR where he shows Marissa his thoughts --- most HOT one in the book for me).  Keep the stories coming!

Hi Midwestgal!  Excellent question about the Omega.  I think he is a finite being but that doesn’t mean he isn’t immortal.  I look at Butch as kind of his weakness.  If Butch didn’t do what he does, the Omega would keep going on forever.

But see, here’s the thing.  Don’t assume the Omega’s not going to respond to the threat to his existence.  Just because Butch can do what he does does NOT mean the Omega won’t find a way around it.

The Black Dagger Brotherhood is my favorite guilty pleasure. When I started Dark Lover, I was skeptical about the ghetto talkig, hiphopping blasting vampires in their over priced clothing. But I could not stop reading the book. Love, love, love the series. It really is getting better with every book. Love the new twist in the fight against the Omega that takes place in Lover Revealed.

I must jump on the band wagon. I really want to read a book about Phury. Next on the list is Rehvenge.

As for the name dropping of high price consumer goods, I have been able to work it into my life. This weekend, I was on a min retreat with the husband. He ordered grey goose vodka. I told him that all really hot studly vampires drank Grey Goose.

I gotta question which I’ve been mulling over for a bit.  I always ask the odd ones.

It appears like the Omega can bring lessers back, like he did O in LA.  O stabbed himself and the Omega brought him back as forelesser.  Can he bring anyone back?  I was just wondering if the Brothers killing the lessers specifically with the black blades somehow prevented that.  For some reason, I get the vibe like the blades have some tricks beyond just being super-sharp and very cool looking.

I just want to say I love, love love the BDB books.  I am another one who had never read a vampire book and never wanted to until I dipped my toe with Theresa’s latest 2 books.  Then Christina was raving about Dark Lover on Squawk one day and I gave it a try.  Man am I glad I did.  I love it when a series improves over time.  Dark Lover was great, but the books have become more complex, intense, and addictive.  Lover Revealed was fabulous, can’t wait for October and Lover Unbound.

What is it about this series??  Before reading your work as J.R. Ward, I read your Jessica Bird books and really enjoyed them.  I love to read, and I especially love to read romance novels, but (with the exception of the BDB) I don’t participate in message boards or chats, I don’t speculate on books far in the future....  I don’t CARE so much.  What have you done to me?  LOL

Do you have any theories on why this particular series has such an ardent following? 

Thank you, by the way.  I do so love being excited months in advance about a new book.  I loved snuggling up on the couch with LR and a cup of tea (after the kids and my husband were in bed, of course) and just reading from one cover to the other and smiling and crying.  It was wonderful!

I’ll echo Kren’s comments and say, Wow, this series just does something to you!
I loved the touch at the end, with all the shellans wearing the gowns corresponding to the book cover’s color(s)!
I too, am interested in the Omega/Scribe Virgin relationship, do they have a relationship that is codependent on each other? Can good (scribe) exist w/o evil (omega)?

There was rumors that Tohr’s new Shellan has already made appearances in either book 1-3..is there any truth to this?  If so was she in all the books or just one out of 2..lol?

Xhex...is she muscle looking girl w/the pecs as boobs or more like Demi Moore in GI Jane?

Okay, now that that’s done, I have two questions:

1. When Wrath greets Beth, he kisses her on the mouth and on each side of her neck over her veins. That is SO sweet and romantic! Is that a traditional greeting? Can you tell us more about it? Do any of the other mated Brothers greet their females in this way?

2. Mention of Beth was often accompanied by the phrase “half-breed queen” in LR. While I’m positive that everyone who matters to Beth personally doesn’t care that she had a human parent, how does the glymera deal with this when/if the royal couple interacts with the aristocracy? She’s the queen; they can’t exactly shun her, either because of custom or for fear of inviting Wrath’s extreme displeasure.

Like I’ve said before, LR was incredible and I can’t wait until we can discuss it on the boards! Muah WARDen! (but I’m not sorry about the Nike)

The mother and abused little girl were never given names.  The only name was Mastimon and that was the stuffed tiger, IIRC.

My speculation was leaning toward the female hired to run Safe Place.  Intelligent, independent...also no name.  I think I might be really stretching with that one, though. 

I just know Ven’s going to come over and smack me upside the head for the crazy speculations today.

Ing, it was the abused mom’s little girl she gave the plate to (at least I think it was a plate). She tells the girl that they ask the scribe virgin for favors and they leave it on that plate for the SV.
Do you remember that? It was at the hospital.

Actually the abused mother/daughter had been on my list, but I’m not so sure anymore.  It’s just....it sounded like Rehv’s stepfather was abusive and I wonder if he has a special hatred for abusive hellrens.  That would’ve made the mother/daughter pairing so interesting.  I just had this hope that someone related to Safe Place would make an appearance later.

What a wild interview!  I loved it.  I do have your books but I have to wait until I am through with classses this semester to start them.  I have about 6/7 weeks left.  I know once I start reading the books, I won’t be able to put them down to study.  Stinky classes ruin everything.

Hi Orannia!  I can’t say which book- but I will say I LOOOOVE me some Rehv.  WHOA he is just… yeah… it’s not just the purple eyes that get to me.  It’s the whole thing with the mohawk and the evil side to him.  YUM.

Randa I like Butch and V together.  Frankly they can’t live without each other.  What’s great about the females they end up with is that Marissa and Jane understand how close they are and are cool with it.  I wanted to handle the dynamic between them with respect and care- and I believe I’ve done that.  Esp. in V’s book…

LeEbra, yes I have been spending a lot of time in LGD.  I find that everything is so much more clear after one of those.  Don’t you?

DaPecker, I really like that mother and daughter.  So terrible all they had been through and how wonderful they are in a good place right now…

I’ve just read Dark Lover--Christina’s rec-- and I have to say, I never thought myself that into vampires…

...til now.  I think it was because your world-building didn’t seem so forced; it just sort of easily unfolded.

And actually, I would like to know your answers (sans tea if you can manage it , Kitty is gone, isn’t she? ) to a few of Kitty’s questions: 

How’d a nice girl like you develop this fiendishly dense, 3-D vampire world?

What do you read/watch/do for inspiration and ideas?

And do you seriously have a pig?

I’m most looking forward to Zsadist’s story (I found him extremely compelling) and I love the relationship between Butch and guy who loves the Sox (born in MA, of course).

Hi JR Ward!  Thanks for answering my question about the nature of the Omega and the SV --- that hint gave me the heebie jeebies, heheh . . . scenes w/ the Omega in LR freaked me out so much I had to snuggle closer to the DH while reading, LOL!

So WARDen, how’s Butch liking his total body makeover?

And I’ve been franticly going through all the books making a list of all the females that have made a brief apperance. Aaannnnd....I’m putting my money on the female with the injured young!

So does Lassiter show up in V’s book? Am itching to learn more about him. Or maybe thats just fleas.

Also will Tohr be there when JM transitions?  I’m hoping he’ll return in time.

It was nice of you to share your sunscreen with the nice Marines, we wouldn’t want them getting sunburned now, would we. LOL!

You’ve been so busy with signings and thngs I know you haven’t had a chance to reply to most if not all of your emails, so I wanted to take the chance to let you know how much I loved Butch’s story. When you and I first started to talk, you told me that he would def have his HEA, you did it, in SPADES> Butch has always been my favorite brother, you know he has from the minute I read DL and I just wanted to say THANK YOU, I love him more than ever now and he will always be top of my liist, no matter who comes in the future. I cried, I laughed and I cussed, Butch and Marissa finally have what they deserve.

Just popped in to say hi. I must say that your interview has got to be one of the best interviews ever.  Loved it.

Coupla questions:

What are you reading now in between V edits and Phury’s story?  And what book are you looking forward to reading?

I am hearing about other series being written… is this true or is just something you have thought about?  I know on the boards you have mentioned you have ideas for other series and such but were concentrating on the Brothers.  Any comments??

And - Can you be bribed into Phury tidbits??  Can I play the sympathy card and find out something about Phury??  I had surgery 2 weeks ago - had a softball sized cyst removed along with my ovary and tube.  It would really help me in my recovery if I knew something about Phury.  Really, I swear it will.
