Well, I’m guessing I’m supposed to be the one who says “Ō%#$&$ you and the horse you rode in on!Ķ because of the six of us, I’m most likely to use the F-word.  But my likelier reply is going to be:  “La la la la la.  I can’t hear you.  I have my fingers stuck in my ears and I’m humming.  La la la la la.”

%#$&$in’-A.

Elizabeth, who, upon hearing this the FIRST time said, “Congratulations, Connie.  Blah blah blah” and didn’t use the F-word at all.

If Liz is too nice to use all those upper case symbols (and the horse), I claim it!

Just stumbled in from the smart bitches blog.
Bookmarked y’all.
Elizabeth,
considering I call my children “chickens”, you’re title about eating your young is doubly funny.
Teresa,
I remember reading one of your stories that had raspberries in it.  Can’t recall the title, but I really enjoyed it.
Eloisa,
Interesting about the contemp and historical stories.  I never knew the publisher gods could gently nudge (i.e. tell you) to try another subgenre.
Connie,
Good guidelines.  And PC?  *laughing* If you were, I wouldn’t have bookmarked the site.
Christina,
I WOULD write about clueless heroines, but then my books would be listed in the “biographical” section instead of fiction.  heh

Wow, Chryscat, I had one of your children for dinner tonight.  :o) Welcome to Squawk Radio.  And, Kate:

1. I’m honestly not sure, but I think it was one of us squawkers.  (Just not me, since I can barely make out a legible grocery list, let alone draw something fun.)

2. a) 6
b) 3
c) 5
d) 2 (Allegedly)
e) 1
f) 4

And I defy anyone to say I’m wrong.

Love the chickens!  And congrats! (my personal take would be--bwahahaha...some day that spot will be MINE, all MINE!...um, yeah, I suppose I’d have to actually SELL the manuscript first).  Hee hee.

I am in no way gushing but this blog is so cool--five busy writers taking the time to get down with the commoners and, um, share your chicken illustrations.

But seriously, am very happy you’re all doing this.

We’re very happy you guys are taking the time out to visit us, Rachel.

And stick with it, Michelle!  Someday you, too, will be blogging and sniping with all your writer friends.  :o)

The new chickens are great, but what happened to the face that was peaking between them?

I finished My Surrender at 6:30 this morning.  Not to suck up too much, but it was fabulous, my favorite in the series.  Elizabeth will be doing her la, la, la, I can’t hear you thing, because it’s destined for more great reviews and best seller lists.  Done sucking up, thanks for a great read.

darling, darling tara nmarie,

You just ignore that sullen little ELizabeth face and say whatever nice things you want to about my book! I don’t think anyone realizes how much we appreciate completely having someone say “good job!” Thanks!

*Eloisa made me take her face down.*

Connie,
I donÕt know if youÕll see this since IÕm adding my comment so late.  Just wanted to let you know that I loved MY SURRENDER.  And like all your other fans, I am sorry that this will be your last historical.  At least your swan song soared to the heavens!

While I was reading MS, I saw EloisaÕs comments about the book at her website.  After that I began imagining Dand as Faramir.  LOL!  But Ramsey *sigh* is still my fave Rose Hunter.

If it werenÕt for this blog I never would have guessed who Chris, Mary, Terri, Liz, and Lisa were.  Hmmmm, however, if you were a true friend you would have used their pen names so that they would have received some free advertising.  j/k!!!!

Thanks for a great read and a great series!

Hi, Connie--

I love your writing, and the cover looks great (well, the Ichabod Crane-ish headlessness notwithstanding).  I’m really looking forward to reading the book—I’ve been a fan since Once Upon a Pillow, which I first picked up because it had a Christina story in it.

I’m sure it was unintentional, but your title/cover may be the subject of an unfortunate cosmic coincidence.  Not too long ago, I read a New York Times book review of a book titled The Surrender, by a nom-de-plume author named Toni Bentley.  That book is a paean to her favorite position to… um, well… let’s just say it shows up at least once in every Stephanie Laurens book that I’ve ever come across.

Here is a link to the Bentley book at Amazon.com, so you can judge for yourself.

Anyways, considering the subject of that book, it seems funny that your publisher’s art department folks would go with that particular pose for your cover, all things considered.  smile

Congrats on all the book jacket praise, and best wishes for a smashing success!!

PS. I’m generally not a big blog-follower, but this site is truly wonderful.  Please keep it up!
