Thank God for another Buffett fan in the world. This CD is perfection for the holidays and YOU talked about it! Yeah!

Banana Wind also has a hidden track with James Taylor. And he does this terrific rants, “Where the hell’s the hidden track?” Awesome.

Thanks Liz for the suggestion.  I called my older sister ( a die-hard parrot head thru and thru) and sure enough, she has that CD.  She said I would love it.

I have found my musical tastes switching gears these past few years and the old standby’s don’t seem as comforting as they used to.  So I’ll try this one by JB and I have a couple new ones that I have discovered in the past 2 years: David Bowe and Bing Crosby’s rendition of “The little Drummer boy”; and Garth Brooks’ “Go tell it on the mountain”; those are really neat.

hmmm...I’ll have to take a listen.  I love christmas music...but I tend to like the old stuff (Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole) better.  I definitely think I was born in the wrong era (music wise).  Oh and I am definitely having a tropical Christmas.  On this tiny island off mainland Japan it’s a balmy 70 degrees…

*wishing for a white...or at least COLD Christmas*

I’ve had JB’s Christmas Island CD for so long, I think I’ve about worn it out...hmmm...maybe time for a new copy. smile

I’ve been humming Mele Kalikimaka all week. I also really like Bing’s version of it. April, I’m another one who loves the oldies...my PARENTS oldies! LOL!  There’s a CD collection at Costco I have on my wish list “Love Songs from WWII”.

I love JB so I’ll definitely be looking for this one.  My favorite Christmas music is from an ancient album my parents had when I was really little - my brother recently made me a CD of it.  Talk about bringing back memories.  I have no idea who even sings half of the songs.

Off the subject, Liz - have you found a Wii yet?  We wasted half of the day looking for one and still no luck.  I’m not really up for spending an hour in front of a store before it opens but that seems to be the only way it’s going to happen.  Are they any easier to get in other parts of the country (I live in southeastern Virginia)?

Oo, really? I would love that. Will have to check it out.

And yes, I’m all about Bing for Xmas. I asked Liz to blog about Nat King Cole’s Xmas album, but she’s ignoring me ...

Dang, April. We’re at 21 degrees and dropping here. Brrrr.

I love the old Christmas stuff, too. We have several from that era, all the usual suspects (Tony Bennett, Dino, Mel Torme), and about three swing collections. Great stuff. I hope you guys like the Buffett. (And a shout out to Jenny for being a JB fan already!)

Funny you should ask, Carolyn. After three attempts (two of which ended with me or my husband being the first person in line AFTER the cut-off number), I did indeed score a Wii this morning--after waiting four hours in those 20 degree temps. (It actually ended up being a really fun experience on which I will be blogging next week. In these situations, it’s essential to have the right group of people waiting, and I was in such a group this morning.)

I’m hearing now that stores are actually getting shipments of two to four dozen at a time, but are holding a lot of them back to sell over time, so they can keep advertising them. I think they’re hard to come by, no matter where you live, unfortunately.

I’m sorry, Christina, did you say something? (Watch this space...)

My husband and I have been Parrotheads from way back when.  We’ve seen him in concert twice at Jones Beach!  What FUN!

Now my kids are singing his songs.  Just today, my son cued up our Christmas CDs and this one was the first one he reached for.

Looks like we have another Parrothead in training!
