Orannia (and what a gorgeous name that is), my husband is a HUGE Crowded House fan. I love them, too, and so does my son. They get a lot of airplay in our house. And I still have my Split Enz LPs from the old days. (And the first one of you college girls who pipes up, “What’s an LP?” is gonna get smacked.) I loved how the one for “True Colors” had that cool laser treatment on the disc that put all the shapes on the vinyl.
I actually heard Tim Finn on satellite radio, which is the best Mother’s Day gift I ever received. And I think he just released a new album, so I look forward to hearing from that, as well.
Sweet! This music sounds like something I’d love to get my hands on - is at available on Amazon?
Also - Kia Ora Orannia!!
What the heck is an… Just kidding, I actually have a collection of some great music on LPs from the stone age.
*ducking and running*
LOL! My verification was after17. Yep, by about 3 months.
Geez! No, I do not “appear65.”
LOL, Blueskies. I’m “season28” this time. Yes, I think I can safely say I’ve seen 28 seasons.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go hunt and gather my dinner.
Midwestgal: his website is http://www.timfinn.com and you can order music there. I just checked it out; there is also a video you can listen to. I liked it - the song it plays is really upbeat. I’ll have to put him on my list, too!
Thanks for the review!
Well, dang, Midwestgal. I thought I’d popped up a reply to your question earlier, but for some reason it didn’t show. For sure you can get the CD at Amazon--I just keep forgetting to put in the link I’m supposed to put in for the music blogs now, and now I can’t find the directions Terri sent me for how to do that.
Thanks, Carolyn, for putting up the url for Tim’s site. I should probably get in the habit of doing that kind of thing, too. Glad you liked what you heard there!
Crowded House are the best! Am so glad you and your husband like them Liz
I heard buskers playing ‘Something So Strong’ once as I was going down the escalators at a tube station in London. I’d been away from NZ for 18 months and didn’t realise that I was singing along until I got to the bottom. And I wasn’t the only one singing along
Luckily the buskers drowned me out!
Kia ora midwest girl

PS And yes, the buskers got a good donation
Hi Liz,
It’s so nice to read a Tim Finn review! I didn’t realise he had airplay time in the US.
Being a Kiwi girl I grew up on Split Enz, Crowded House (the band created from the ashes of Split Enz - and their music blows the mind BTW
, and Tim & Neil Finn. It really speaks to your soul and (I think) has a really Kiwi feel. Whenever I was homesick in the UK I used to listen to Crowded House Greatest Hits. (Unfortunately singing along with them didn’t go down too well on the tube
