Love Cesaria Evora!

My favorite new Christmas CD is “New Orleans Christmas”, put out by Putumayo World Music.  A portion of the profits go to the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity Musician’s Village project.

The music is pure NOLA jazz and how can you resist Ingrid Lucia doing ‘Zat You, Santa Claus?

Ok, Liz, I’m going to take a wild stab and say you are a “summer” type personality! The cover reminds me of one we have called “A Very Special Christmas” the art was by the late/great Keith Harring too. With Run DMC singing a Christmas song...! Kids love that one. I think the album was made for raising money for charity..anyway, Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the recs, RISMF! And the Putumayo N.O. CD sounds like exactly what we need in our collection, CJ. Gee, I have to shop today and just added stuff to my list.

Ms. Mary, I’m glad you said that, because I forgot to mention that this CD sends proceeds to the same group, hence the similar artwork. We have several of the “Very Special” CDs. And funny you should mention the Run-DMC. “Christmas in Hollis” is our favorite track from the first one.  cheese

And ya know, I’m actually more of an autumn type, but I do love the tropics (see today’s blog above *G*). In a perfect world, I’d have two houses--one on the coast of New England somewhere, and one on a Caribbean island. Which reminds me. I need to buy a lottery ticket…

In a perfect world, we’d probably be neighbors, lol.  With a boat to travel between those houses with the seasons.
I need a lottery ticket too.
