My Imagination May Be Working Overtime but Speaking of Tom Cruise…

Cynical lil ol’ me? I think he realized he needed to shape up, play the game, or not have a career. And since his can’t imagine he would have that wife without the cache of being a movie star, he really could lose it all, couldn’t he?
LOL! I think you might have something there, Connie. The timing is pretty suggestive.
I like it! I like the idea of Katie saying, “You go over and apologize right now!” and Tom going.
Maybe Tom should “go missing” for a few months.....then Kate could get her act together and dump the loser.

Would he ALLOW her to take anti-depressants?????? I bet not. It’s not tenent of Scientology.

Maybe Kate’s Scientology Shadow needed the drugs after spending so much time in the Cruise household.

And if I were Brook Shields.....Tom would have the imprint of my door on his forehead and my foot on his behind.

Ann - NOT a Tom fan
Let’s just HOPE he doesn’t appear on Oprah again.

Christina, I think you hit the nail on the head. With his career and charisma at an all time low, Kate may be heading for the door.

Go Girl!!!!!

Ann
I agree about Tom. And do we really care if Brad never marries Angelina? Not me.
These “stars” are not real life. Let’s get over it!
Post-partum depression is real!!! and medication can help! This man? is not an MD. I am an RN. The lady in question went on live? TV to help many other women who had the same problem and might have thought they were going crazy. They weren’t!!! It is a fact that hormones can go “out of whack and the only thing that helps is not exercise and MVI, it is an antidepressant!!! Why is it that men do not understand this???? Why does Tom Cruise think he is the last word on anything?
What do I think? Let’s see ... I think they have a beautiful baby but do not see what all the fuss was about. Many people have beautiful babies.

I think Tom Cruise frightens me and has done so since his Top Gun days.

I think you are correct, he is definitely an actor with a good agent and new publicity team.

I think Nicole Kidman is thanking her lucky stars for her new hubby.
I think I’ve been living under a rock. Until this post and a few others elsewhere, it never crossed my mind that no one had seen Suri (or the children of any other celebrities, for that matter). Now, if they had horses… :-D

Nicole Kidman is married?
I would like to think that I would be forgiving and tolerant if I were in Brooke Shields’ shoes...but I know me and my tolerance level (especially this week) is at an all time low.
Oh, Lynn, me too. That’s what I kept thinking through all this Tom madness, Lucky Nicole! Tom dumped her, and she got Keith Urban, who frankly I think is much sexier and certainly seems to be a more balanced, more sensitive human being.
What a bad picture! Those two look more into the camera than eachother. In fact they seem quite uncomfortable together. Not a promising start to an engagement.
First of all, when Tom started his couch jumping proclamations for his love of Kate, I had to wonder what about Nicole and Penelope Cruz. It was insulting to them. What they were chopped liver compared to Tom’s Kate?

And look at his relationship with Ms. Cruz. It was low key. He wasn’t parading her everywhere and making a total fool out of himself.

I don’t know how much he is paying his publicist and image maker. But it’s not enough. Tom has become a joke.
I don’t know, Dance, maybe I’ve been living under a rock since I am in love with Keith Urban and I didn’t think he and Nicole had actually tied the knot yet. I thought they were still just engaged.
I was never ga-ga over Tom Cruise. Well OK, maybe when I was a teen and he was in Risky Business (especially the scene where he slides across the floor in just his shirt and socks with the dark sunglasses on) but his recent spotlights in the media have completely turned me off to him. Now when I see him on TV, the first thought to enter my mind is “what a freak”.
Only in America would we pay attention to the medical advice of a high school dropout! Talk about a mid-life meltdown...Tom’s toast. Katie, get out while you can!
The first thing I thought when Katie got pregnant was that I hoped she didn’t get postpartum depression. I’ve been on Lexapro since the birth of my second child 4 years ago and I am never looking back! I think people (like Tom) that have no clue what they are talking about should keep their mouths shut. But what else do ego-obsessed celebrities have to do in their spare time? I think it’s about time he apologized to Brooke Shields, and if Katie is suffering from PPD, I hope she tells Tom to get over himself and takes whatever she needs to in order to be a good mommy to little Suri.
Just a little info in case some of you dont know--

The crazy Tom Cruise started emerging last summer when Tom fired his long-time publicist Pat Kingsley, a legendary publicist in the business, for his own sister who was another Scientologist. Tom had to finally admit damage control and has since replaced his sister this year but the damage is already done.

Paramount (the makers of the lucrative MISSION IMPOSSIBLE series) did not renew their movie making deal with Tom a month ago. Tom has made over 200 mil at least from the MISSION IMPOSSIBLE pictures which is why he was voted the #1 Most Powerful Person in Entertainment by Forbes magazine this year.

With such money at stake, it’s very important for Tom to redeem his image. . . . if he can, that is.
What disturbed me when Katie got pregnant, was that everyone acted as if this would be Tom’s first child. They kept calling him a first time father. I kept thinking, what about his two adopted children. I’ve only heard mention of them recently as being part of his family. It was kind of sad to me that Tom didn’t step up and remind everyone that he has two children in all of the interviews he was doing.
I won’t comment on this specifically. Just don’t get me going on anybody or anything having to do with scientology. I have relatives connected to it--very deeply connected in fact and it’s brought nothing but grief to the extended family. Some of them got out of it but before they were truly free of it--well, they actually they are probably still under observation--they were dragged back to headquarters like criminals. Only when they promised never to reveal anything about scientology in any way, were they allowed to leave. Others are still involved in it and are basically cut off from the rest of their families. Even thinking of it makes me feel ill.

Tom is so opinionated that he will try to make you believe that black is white. Of course, his two adopted children aren’t “really” his especially since he now has proved that he can have children. He may have even been forced to renounce his other children. I wouldn’t put it past Scientology.

One instance of black becoming white, if you will, comes from an article I read on his use of language. He uses “enervate” to mean giving you energy, invigorating you. In reality, it means just the opposite. He angrily turns on journalists who tell him that. His answer is just a dictionary or computer away and the word should be “innervate”.
I used to be a Tom fan, but he has lost all of his luster with me, started by that whole couch jumping thing and then his attack on Brooke. When I watched that interview all I could think was that someone needed to get him some drugs quick.

Isn’t his behavior so typical of a guy thing to do? Tick off the people most important to your career--and who could be more important to a leading man than WOMEN--and then think that they can just smooth it over with the appearance of a sincere apology?

Tom’s movies these days are definitely in the “Wait for the video” category. I won’t be paying my hard earned money to see his movies in the theater anymore.
Even if Katie had suffered from PPD, I don’t think she has any level of control or say in that “relationship.” I think Tom calls ALL the shots. Katie can’t even go shopping without her Scientology watchdogs by her side. So I can’t imagine her ordering Tom to do anything.

I think Tom Cruise is involved in a cult, and acts like a cult member. I think he has an enormous ego, and has been surrounded by nothing but yes men for so many years that he has no grasp on reality. He’s not normal. He’s a total whack job.

So even if Katie had suffered from post-partum depression, I think Tom would have stuck her on a treadmill and shoved Vitamin C down her throat. I don’t think he ever would have been sympathetic to her. He would cure her himself just to prove his point. Because while he’s apologized to Brooke, his rep has made it very clear that he has not changed his stance on taking drugs to help with things like depression.

I also think his entire relationship with Katie and this baby is nothing but pure publicity. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out if before Tom’s next big movie that Katie’s pregnant - and the baby’s birth will, once again, coincidentally enough, happen at the same time as the movie’s premiere.

I will never again patronize a Tom Cruise movie. I won’t rent them, I won’t go to a theater to see him. I want him to fade into obscurity.

And I agree that Nicole is probably offering up a fervent prayer of gratitude every day that she got out.
I totally agree with all of you. Tom is a creep and always has been. I remember seeing an interview with him once many years ago and thinking he needed to tone down his arrogance or all the women who loved to watch him would abandon him for a more likeable guy. Lucky Nicole, she really got a good guy this time.
As an Australian, I can assure you that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban did get married here a few months ago. Press went berserk. As for Tom Cruise, there is a celebrity who obviously now believes his own press! Nicole has definitely moved on to greener pastures. All men should be banned from expressing opinions about “girlie” things unless we can make sure they also experience exactly what we do! Oops, sorry, could be a bit PMSie
I like #3 Connie!!

I was never a huge Tom Cruise fan so ...... Brooke Shields went on record saying he was soooo sincere.

Well d-uh! He is an ACTOR (wonder if she forgot??? )
