HAPPY ANNIVERSARY SQUAWK RADIO!
I have to admit I’ve been here from the beginning but I have mostly been a lurker. I believed I heard about Squawk Radio from the Avon Message Board.
Erudite;
From Latin eruditus, participle of erudire ‘teach, train’, from e- + rudis ‘rude, unskilled’.
I was “turned on to” you Squawkers by my daughter, a historical romance writer (not yet published). Being retired after a long and hectic career, I started reading again. To “feed” my reading addiction, I needed to get familiar with what was out there in the reading world.
Happiness is reading. And, CAN I READ!!!! I have over 400 books on my reading shelves. The Squawkers are some of my favorite authors and this site provides me with total, unadulterated entertainment. I am always pleased with the range of content, guest bloggers, contests, give-aways etc.
You girls do a wonderful job, especially when so many “blogging” websites tend to veer off course and lose their purpose.
Happy Second Birthday, ladies. I am here for the long haul!!!!
Happy Anniversary!!! I have been here for about a year now and probably “lurked” a little longer than that. I know I heard about y’all on the Avon Board. You are some awesome ladies and I just try to come by every day just to see what is being “squawked” on. Sometimes, you guys have me laughing out loud!
This is like looking at old photos of oneself—I’m always so startled by how young I (used) to look!
In this case I feel as if I used to be smarter. More erudite, in fact!
Eloisa
I’ve been here since before comments were enabled
But I’m still usually a lurker. I found out about squawk radio through Eloisa’s website. Keep up the entertainment ladies. All the best on another successful year.
I can’t believe it’s been two years already. Time flies when you’re squawking.
Sidenote: Connie, did you know that Hugh Laurie just wrote his first novel, The Gun Seller?? He just went up on the sexy meter, eh?
Happy Anniversary!
I’ve been here since the beginning. An email from the brilliant, gorgeous, tiny and incredibly well-dressed Christina Dodd urged me to check out her new joint venture blog, Squawk Radio. (Is that good enough for an ARC?) Of course, I was curious so I popped on over and here I’ve been ever since.
This is where I start and end my day (and visit many times in between). This is where I’ve been moved to laughter and tears, made wonderful new friends and discovered incredibly talented authors, not to mention the hunkiest driveway pavers in the state of Washington. Because of Squawk I have not only filled the many bookshelves within my house but now I’m working on the closets!
Because of Squawk I now know that many of my favorite authors are not only talented writers but strong, funny, caring, incredible women who meet their readers with huge smiles and warm hugs.
Thank you Christina, Eloisa, Liz, Terri, Connie and Lisa for two fabulous years. Here’s hoping we’ll be wishing Squawk Radio Happy Anniversary for many years to come!
Like PJ, I read from the beginning, but didn’t start posting until the blog about the Star Wars movie..the one where Teresa went on about her ‘Pademe’..remember? I still look back at that one, when I want to laugh..
I found you through Christina’s web site as well..
This is a delightful place to visit, both as readers, and insight to authors.
Hi, all! I’ve just recently discovered SquawkRadio, lurked for a time then posted just a few weeks ago, if that. I discovered it through Christina’s website, when I was surfing rather than writing like I should have been doing. First draft is almost finished, and you Squawkers are a huge inspiration to me! Thank you for sharing your time and talents, ladies! *popping open cyber-champagne to celebrate your anniversary*
Happy anniversary!
I have been coming to Squawk Radio for about a year, but just lurked for a while. finally got up enough nerve to comment.
Good Morning!
I found Squawk thru Eloisa’s website. I was searching for the name of one of her older books and saw the invite to the blog. I checked it out and have been here ever since. That was this past November.
As mentioned above, I feel connected to everyone here through our love of books. I come here to laugh, learn, and bond.
I’m making new friends and you authors make us feel right at home. This is a wonderful place. I plan on sticking around.
Prudence
Actually, Connie, Hugh Laurie’s book was pubbed in 1996--guess it takes awhile to wade across the pond.
I came to squawk because Christina told me to. She was on the Avon bb and enticed me then told me about everyone else who was going to take part, and I just couldn’t resist.
!!!!!!Congratulations Squawkers!!!!!!
I have been here since almost the beginning. I think you may have been around a month or two. Still the best blog that I visit. Keep up the great work.
I always look forward to the topic of the day. And all the witty responses.
PJ, I gotta love any Squawk reader who describes Xtina as “brilliant, gorgeous, tiny and incredibly well-dressed”! Methinks SOMEBODY wants to win a prize today!
(Of course PJ’s homemade chocolates are better than Godiva!)
Happy Anniversary!!!
I have only been here a few weeks, after attending a Lisa Kleypas book signing in Atlanta. I really enjoy being able to share my opinions and comments without feeling as if I am being judged. I think that says a lot about the women that come here. You all ROCK!
Happy Anniversary!!!!!! I have been coming here since Christmas, I forget how I found out about your blog. I usually lurk.
There should be a warning not to drink while reading TM’s reasons NOT to blog....oh dear! Special Ed, falling, Did you do the toilet paper trail from the girls washroom too? [shakes head]
off to get a towel for the uh...tea...that fell on my desk....
Good morning, dear friends, and thanks for brightening our lives with your presence! Has it REALLY been two years? And yet we still haven’t run out of things to say . . .
Happy Anniversary Squawkers! Here’s to many, many more!
I had read all the romances in our small local library branch and was ready to try someone new, but I’m a real chicken when it comes to just picking up an unknown author (especially since I would have to order it shipped from another branch). I loved Julia Quinn and thought “I need more books like that”, so I went to her website to see if she mentioned who she reads. I followed the links and here I am!
That was back in June, and you’re now my first stop every day (sometimes my only stop if I’m in a hurry). You ladies always make me smile, sometimes make me laugh, or cry, and always entertain me. Oh, and I’m loving going through your backlists. I feel like I’ve discovered buried treasure!
Happy Anniversary! I can’t remember how I found out about your site. I’m usually a lurker. But love your blog.
Yes, Tiffina, my friends still tease me about having to ride the short bus for a week. I don’t know what happened but I distinctly remember looking around the classroom as a puzzled 5-year-old and thinking, “What’s wrong with these people?” because they were all wetting themselves and eating paste. I was only in the class for a couple of days and all I had to do to get out was draw a stick figure with five fingers on each hand
Happy Anniversary!!!
Thank you so much for devoting so much of your time to such a great blog. I love starting my day with laughter and joy and good ‘conversation’.
My 3 year old daughter and I baked chocolate chip cookies this weekend...consider one eaten in your honour. Actually, I’d better eat one for each of you. Mmmm. Okay, how about two each?
Two years and we still haven’t gotten to cellulite. I think that says something about the higher tone of the blog.
J Stone Perry--- like Hugh needed to go up on the sexy scale. You did realize that in all those music sequences, that’s really him playing on HOUSE?
Thanks all you guys for sticking with us (even through Terr’s Russell Crowe spam...)
I have been a lurker since the beginning. I heard about it through Lisa’s website that I visit rather frequently to see when her other books are coming out or if there are any new sneek peaks.
I just recently became an actual participant and member and haven’t looked back since!
Happy Anniversary!
I hear you Tiffina . . . how about eating a bowl of cereal while reading TM’s reasons --- not a pretty sight! LOL! (I know I shouldn’t laugh --- but this has to be one of my faves) . . . uhh, I got introduced to SR I believe from Eloisa’s website (the pre-glam/spiffy one, haha). I actually remember the first blog that I read --- it was something about getting together (in some cabin/woods retreat) to brainstorm book ideas/characters. Can’t remember if they were just pulling our legs or what --- but I do remember laughing and thinking -hey, I like these ladies! I remember them getting on LK’s case about wearing makeup for a cabin/wood retreat. Another fave blog was Connie’s about water skiing . . . I want that one posted up again . . . the cellulite flapping in the wind still has me in stitches!!!
Thanks again gals for the great laughs ---- love the books you write but it’s always such a greater treat to know that you even like the person behind the books.
Happy anniversary...I have been lurking and sometimes posting for several months. There is so much to enjoy about this blog particularly the laughs. Thank you.
Happy birthday, chicks!
I popped in a few months after Squawk started--and its all Eloisa’s fault!! I had finished reading a “Pleasures” Book, and went to her website...and now I’m addicted. Thanks. I think I had some mild withdrawal symptoms when I went on vacation. I have to say that its only gotten better and better, and its the first non-work/study website I log into every morning. I love reading about what’s important with all of you, because its in some way important to the rest of us, too. And I’ve never met a group of women more insightful than all you ladies here.
...and all the contests, prizes, and guest authors probably help, too!
Happy anniversary to you..
Happy anniversary to you…
Happy anniversary Dear Squawkers…
Happy anniversary to you!!
...And many more…
Seriously, I’m so glad I found you all. Even though I’m a sporadic poster, I’ve made some dear friends here and I really love the blogs and books
My verification word is “met32”...I think I’ve met at least that many!
Happy Anniversary, ladies!
Happy Anniversary Ladies!
I found out about Teresa’s website thanks to reading the cover of one of her books. I kept seeing the link to Squawk Radio on her site and finally took the time to visit about a year and a half ago. This is my first stop of the morning every morning.
The Squawkers and Squawkees rock!
Happy Anniversary! I guess I have faithfully visited this site for over a year now and for at least twice a day. The way I stumbled upon Squawkradio was I did a google search on Lisa. I’m relatively new to the world of romance so I had only read a handful of romance authors and I had only read books by Lisa and Connie when I got here. But by now I have read most of the rest of the Squawkers books and then those of the guest bloggers. So I’d say your site is a great success for this reader! And I enjoy it evertime I visit. I wish you all the best and continued success… - Sepi
Happy Anniversary Squawk!!!
I’m another who has been here since the beginning. Its been wonderful and I can’t believe its 2 years already.
Happy Anniversary Squawkers! I found your site through one of Christina’s Newsletters, and have been a member since December 2006. Since I don’t have much to say, I’m usually a lurker, and love reading all of your blogs!
I am a new vistor to Squawk Radio and wishing everyone of you fantastic writers a Happy Anniverary! What would all of us do without your wonderful books to escape our everyday hectic lives? Thanks a million and enjoy your day in the spotlight!
Thanks midwestgal for the reminder of one of the funniest postings on SquawkRadio. I too hope we can reread the one about Connie’s waterskiing,,,
Some of Kitty’s are also funny, but she never gives out the recipe for those green thingies she drinks.
It has been so long that I cannot remember how I found you all, but like the rest I am happy I did.
Congrats, Squawkers on your two year anniversary! I love this blog and you’re all as terrific as your fabulous books!
I came to Squawk after a friend of mine who lives in the US sent me a parcel of books including Christina’s Princess books and the first book in Connie’s Mclairen trilogy. After reading the books, I just fell in love with their books and their characters and after a quick google search, I found their sites and this blog about a year and a half ago and I’ve been coming here ever since- not to mention visiting Amazon frequently to order all of your books!
Love,
Julie
Happy Anniversary, Ladies!
I’ve been here from the beginning. First as a lurker and then a poster. I found you through Eloisa’s site.
I second, third, fourth and fifth the comment that this is a great place to visit everyday.
Thank you for creating such a welcoming community for all of us.
Happy Anniversary, Squawkers! I’ve been here for about 18 months and have enjoyed every minute. Reading all of them comments here never fails to make me laugh… and sometimes cry.
This is the first place I go in the morning when I get on my computer. Thanks for making my day a little brighter and so much richer! Here’s to many more years with you wonderful, talented ladies and more books for you to write so the rest of us can enjoy them.
Cheers!
Happy Anniversary!!
This is my first stop in the morning, too. As well as several times during the day.
Here’s to many, many more years!!
Di
Congrats on 2 years running, darlings!
Happy Anniversary, girls. Been here since the beginning. Devoted follower of anything that spews out of Connie’s mouth (ooh, that sounded disgusting as soon as I typed it), so when she sent a newsletter saying, “Check out Squawk,” I, of course, obeyed. Since then, I’ve enjoyed getting to know all of you ladies and your work!
Teresa said: (Of course PJ’s homemade chocolates are better than Godiva!)
Comments like that just might earn a certain bubbly blonde from Kentucky a prize from PJ’s kitchen!
This is a little OT but there’s a great discussion going on over at Romance: By the Blog today. A professor from Princeton and his students are visiting with questions about the romance genre and they’d love input from romance readers. Here’s the URL. (If it doesn’t make a link, just cut and paste it into your browser.)
http://www.romancebytheblog.blogspot.com:80/
For some reason, PJ, I initially read your comment as “bubble-headed blonde”
Midwestgal, thank you for reminding us about Connie’s waterskiing blog. That blog has to be of the funniest things I’ve ever read.
I’m another that’s been here from the beginning. Love, love squawk and read daily. I can not believe its been 2 years. I have a 2 year old (born in Oct.). Squawk helped me at least hear an adult conversation, while I was going crazy after deciding to stay home with the kids.
Squawk Radio as the first blog I read that made sense? Can any of you believe this? - yea, I said sense.
Thanks squawkers for being so tangible, funny and open.
Happy Anniversary ladies!
I’ve been a lurker for a long time. I found you thanks to Christina’s newsletter. Thanks Christina!
Oh, my. Two years already? Why, you girls don’t look like you’ve been blogging for more than a year. So youthful!
Congratulations and best wishes, bella Squawkers. You led the way, taught everyone that the way to build a community of romance readers on the Inet was to keep it real, and keep it kind and positive.
I owe you many debts of gratitude, not only for the professional courtesy you’ve shown me, and the hours of entertainment your books have given me. I also thank you for being here every day to make me laugh like a madwoman, and feel connected to you and your readers like old friends.
No pressure, or nothin, but get crackin, cause we’re looking forward to many more years of Squawking from youz.
Happy Anniversary, Squawkers!
I was thrilled to discover this site via Susan Elizabeth Phillips BB. You have all provided much laughter and benefit the romance publishing industry tremendously.
Liz
Happy Anniversary!! I have been here several times but just registered today. I actually found out about this site through Christina Dodd’s and Eloisa James website.
KimmyL
I have not been here from the beginning sorry to say. I’m afraid my total addiction to the net and all things blog did not occur until the summer of ‘06. But I found my way here through Eloisa’s BB, started as a lurker since I haven’t read ALL the squawkers (hangs head in shame) then finally took the plunge around the time the new site went online.
I love coming over here knowing you ladies will always make me laugh and feel welcome. This is a great community and I believe that is a direct reflection of the wonderful squawkers involved. Not only are you all terrific writers, you’re terrific people and that is much harder to find. *g*
I’ve actually been here from the beginning, and I was shocked when I saw the announcement that it’s been 2 years. It seems like so much less time than that. I’m mostly a lurker, who comes out when Teresa talks tv.
So what big thing have we learned in the two years since we started? That publishers still like to put shoes on book covers.
Thanks for all the well wishes and kind words, everyone! And thank YOU guys for sticking with us for two years.
Yea Krissy! Yea TV!!! I was talking to a friend the other day who doesn’t watch TV and I was like, “But how does your life have meaning without LOST and 24?”
And Liz, I’ve seen more heads on book covers lately too! Shoes and heads!
Holy smokes! I stagger out of bed this morning to find a party in my blog! Welcome, welcome! Come in! Have some champagne! Pull an elastic pointy hat on, and enjoy yourselves!
::hurrying off to put out the chex mix and read comments::
I just want to put in my two cents that Russell Crowe could never be considered SPAM. He is perfection and it just goes to show that Terri and I (Terri...LOL!) have incredible taste.
And I couldn’t live without TV either...*g*
Happy anniversary!!!
I discovered Squawk within the last year through Eloisa’s website. Now I stop by every morning while I sip my coffee. It’s a great place to pick up some reading inspiration (great authors discussing great books), or just connect with other people on some really cool topics.
PJ said.."I’ve been here since the beginning. An email from the brilliant, gorgeous, tiny and incredibly well-dressed Christina Dodd urged me to check out her new joint venture blog, Squawk Radio. (Is that good enough for an ARC?)”
PJ, you know me better than that!
I’m always susceptable to flattery!
Oo, ms. mary, I remember that blog of Teresa’s! The one where she said Yoda fighting looked like Miss Piggie on amphetamines. Or something like that. Now THAT’S a classic blog!
J Perry Stone said..."I came to squawk because Christina told me to.”
It’s my commanding height, isn’t it?
Ah, yes, Terrio...I haven’t posted many Russell pics lately because I’m saving him for us!
I have been here since near the beginning. I first visited because of Christina’s invitation, and I was thrilled to find not only Christina but five other authors whose books had a home on my keeper shelves--something that is true of no other group blog I know.
Squawk Radio has become part of my daily routine. The warmth, diversity, humor, and realness I find here make this community one of my favorite places.
Terri, we don’t mind if you share Russell with everyone else. Really. We don’t. In fact, we encourage you to spread him around. The sooner, the better.
Then I can start spamming you guys with Gerard Butler.
I have been here for about 9 months or so, and I hope to be more active again soon.
I discovered the blog through Christina and Teresa’s sites
I’m pretty sure I’ve been here from the beginning… I’m pretty sure I got a note from Teresa inviting us to look at the blog, and I got sucked into the Squawk world. It’s like my daily dose of caffeine every day...just another thing to do instead of writing. *grins*
Connie Brockway said..."Two years and we still haven’t gotten to cellulite.”
Except in concern to your thighs while you waterski, dear girl!
Eclipse7 said..."I found your site through one of Christina’s Newsletters”
It’s good to know, young Eclipse, that I’ve led so many to the Squawk Side.
Susan C said..."I’ve been a lurker for a long time. I found you thanks to Christina’s newsletter. Thanks Christina!”
Thanks for coming, Susan! Have a glass of champagne!
Oooh, Liz...Gerard Butler!! Yummmmm. My dh and I went to see “300” the other night. All those very buff, half-dressed men, with Gerard Butler front and center. WOW!
Feel free to post many pictures of that hunky Scot.
My word verification is does 54. Hmmmm.....
Janga said..."I first visited because of Christina’s invitation”
I only subvert the best!
Dannyfiredragon, you’re one of the readers my husband remembers so well.
Julie, Connie and I are a terrifying team when we get together.
Kimmy, Eloisa and I do what we can to fill your life with erudition. (Is that a word?!?)
Teresa Medeiros said…
Ah, yes, Terrio...I haven’t posted many Russell pics lately because I’m saving him for us!
*clapping hands*
Oh, goodie. I’ve got plenty of room on my *cough* hard drive!
I haven’t been here from the start but, ahhhh, the memories. It seems like just yesterday I saw that rubber SquawkRadio chicken fall from thirty stories up and land at a terrified woman’s feet. (I’ve still got the evidence, and I want books. Lots of autographed books.)
Also, Eloisa, I truly hate to hear about La Perla. It makes me sad. Pretty bras and adorable shoes are two things I hate to fall in love with, because both look decidedly different in MY size than the floor sample. For example, cute madras print Keds in a size six? Quirky and fun! In a size ten? Why are you wearing Grandpa’s lawn-mowing shoes from the fifties?
I joined Squawk Radio December 27, 2006 07:25 PM and I found out about the site through Lisa’s website.I already had all of Lisa’s, Connie’s, Christina’s, Theresa’s, and most of Liz’s books but I had not yet found Eloisa or some of the other fabulous writers that you have visit.
Congrats on your second birthday! I have a two year old and I have to ask, do you also love watching Thomas the Tank Engine over and over again, the word no, and have an aversion to potty training?
Theresa, I am so glad you joined. I remember searching frantically for your website right after The Bride and the Beast came out and not finding one. I hate taking amazon.com word about what books an author has out. I think I managed to find and read them all though...several times.
Happy Anniversary!! Thanks for all of the hours of entertaining reading. Just one small complaint, I now have a tbr list that is humongous from all of the recommendations!! Wait, can that really be considered a complaint?!?
Anyway...Happy Anniversary.
--dorothy
Thank you CousinIt! I’m glad you found me too
Happy Anniversary! I have been here for awhile just reading and enjoying the blog. I heard about it from Teresa.
Hello Squakers,
I have been here for almost a year. Sorry I have been lurking here and there. I am glad I found you’s this is an amazing team & lots of wonderful friends I have met here. You ladies rock. Happy 2 year Anniversary and many more years to come WooHoo! Cheers!
Hugssss
LindaH
I found Squawk Radio through Eloisa back in October. I have stayed and lurked on the board for the laughs. I can ALWAYS count on a laugh. Thanks to all the Squawkers for making me feel good no matter what the day brings!
Listen my Squawkers and you shall take in
How the SquawkRadio blog did begin,
On the eighteenth of April, in two-thousand-five;
Six authors took a blog for a test drive
To beguile old and new readers with their unique spin.
Sorry, when you all mentioned that you all debuted on April 18th, I had Paul Revere’s Ride running through my brain....
I can’t remember how I found this blog (maybe a contest lol) and maybe a year or so ago but I know why I stay - you guys have to have one of the best blogs - I love your humor. Happy Anniversary.
I think I’ve been reading squawkradio for er, a year now. It always brightens up my day!
cousin it said… Congrats on your second birthday! I have a two year old and I have to ask, do you also love watching Thomas the Tank Engine over and over again, the word no, and have an aversion to potty training?
Well, I know Connie’s got some retention issues, and I still have days where I can hear the Thomas theme song ("Do do do do do do DOOOOOO..."), and man, you should hear the word “NO!” fly whenever someone brings up the topic of Russell Crowe pics, so I guess, yeah, we’re pretty much flaming two-year-olds.
And look! We’ve made Ms. Hellion poetic! Hey, I think it’s time for another Squawk haiku:
Six sarcastic chicks
Decide to blog together.
Run! While there’s still time!
I discovered SR through Eloisa’s website about a year ago (right after I discovered her novels!) - I feel like I was late to the game on both accounts, but better late than never! (I think that’s my personal motto). I was over the moon to find out that my favorite romance writers were also part of the blog. Anyway, I love the blog, I love your books, and I can’t thank you all and the other fans who visit enough for all the laughs and thought-provoking topics!
Congratulations on two years of the best darn blog I’ve ever read!
Happy Anniversary! All the best and many more years of fun and happiness. Great blog which is un;ique and love it.
Wonderful blog which I totally enjoy. Happy Anniversary and may your success and books be the best ever.
I can’t believe that it has been 2 years already. Seems like you were all just “hatching” yesterday!!!
Congrats to you all!
Happy Anniversary!
And I loved reading today’s blog! LOL!! Such funny and witty ladies. :D
As for when I first found out about the Squawkers, I suppose it was about a year ago when I got addicted to Eloisa’s BB (and now can do nothing else during the workday). LOL!
Again, Happy Anniversary!!!
LdyB
I’ve been reading your blog for quite some time. I found it through one of your websites but I don’t remember which one. Happy Anniversary!
Christina,
why does your husband remembers me so well?
Curious mind wants to know. LOL
Maybe your address, but also he knows your real name. He likes you—when he was handling my contest he got to know people who wrote a little when they entered, and he used to forward me the nice ones.
Thank you for being a nice one!
Happy Anniversary! I wish I could have been there from the beginning. What was I doing two years ago which kept me from tuning in? Ah, yes. I was a workaholic. No time for anything, least of all reading a daily blog.
Fortunately, I am now a desperate housewife(I have two kids under five) living in a new state with no family, and no friends nearby. I joined only a couple of weeks ago, when I came across the name on Eloisa’s website. I’ve been hooked ever since. Thanks ladies for being witty, funny, and complete life savers. Keep up the good work.
And, Eloisa, I am anxiously waiting for Desperate Duchess. I’ve even resorted to lurking on your website in hopes of more titillating excerpts. If there is such a thing as a website stalker, then I am one of them.
Have a good day. And again, Happy Anniversary!
Love your interesting and stimulating blog. Happy anniversary.
I missed the initial couple of weeks of Squawk. I used to visit the AvonAuthors site every day and kept seeing this SquawkRadio thing mentioned. So I popped in for a peek and felt like home right away. This is the only website other than MyYahoo that I visit every single day.
Connie - are you going to reprint just your portion of the water skiing blog (I hope) or the whole thread (Oh Lord, I hope not and everyone who’s read it before knows why).
I have been here for a long long while. I might;ve missed the initial few blogs. I know I didn’t miss Rod Steel!
I came over from Eloisa’s website.
i vist EVERY week day and some weekends too.
Squawk Radio has been my addiction since the beginning. I’m here at least three times a day.
Thanks for all the giggles and guffaws.
Wow 2 years! Can’t believe it. I found this through Teresa’s website. I was reading “Yours Until Dawn” (one of my absolute favorites!) and loved it and wanted to read more by her. I found a list of books and this wonderful website with a whole bunch of wonderful writers and readers. Needless to say, my automatic-buy-and-read-author list has grown significantly.
My guess is that I have been visitng here for a year to a year and a half. I was always posting as anonymous until the blog switched over to having members. I joined the first day it switched over.
I love this blog. It’s so much fun and there are so many great people here. Thanks for the wonderful discussions, the laughs, the suggestions, and the many pictures of sexy men. May there be many more to come!
Happy Anniversary! I love coming here everyday.
Happy Anniversary!
I am a relative newbie here. I was emailed a link to your page, I think by Liz. Liz came to the cold north about 2years back and discovered spring doesn’t come in Michigan until WAAAY past April . I enjoy reading the posts because it can give me my laugh of the day. I also enjoy the humor of writers...something my family doesn’t quite understand. It give me courage to continue the struggle to scrape out some time each day to write.
Thanks and keep the laughs coming
I found you about a year ago, through Eloisa James.
Three Cheers for Two for The Six!!
SR has always been my go-to place for laughs, music information, book reviews, movie reviews (more please), and witty repartee (see how polite I can be?).
I’ve been here for a year now --a lurker first, then a commentator—so happy anniversary me!
And I look forward to our years together! May we grow old, er stay the same, together.
Ah, when did I discover SquawkRadio, ummm yesterday when someone posted a plug in on Fanlit Forever. I am sorry to say that I have missed the past two years. It looks like it has been a lot of fun.
Welcome Christina! We’re hoping these two weeks will be a chance to welcome many new victims...um...I mean, readers, to the fold.
Hopefully this one works.
Actually I think what Teresa said on egos was hilarious, and I thought I was the only one who loved to play with fonts. I look for reasons to write, so I can play with the font.
All of you are wonderful awesome authors, and it would be hard to say is my favorite, but Christina you are the bomb. I try not to miss anything you write.
Christina
You guys are really great. Do you do alot of these chats. If so I’m going to have to start stopping by more often.
Kimmy
I frequent this blog but can’t remember for how long I have been doing this or how I came upon it. Sorry!!! I love coming here.
Happy anniversary.
Happy Anniversary girls, I think you are doing something real awesome. This is my first time here and I think its great. I’m not sure what I’m doing. I guess I’ll just tumble through it.
Nursecarol
Happy Anniversary Squawkers!
Christina said..."All of you are wonderful awesome authors, and it would be hard to say is my favorite, but Christina you are the bomb. I try not to miss anything you write.”
Thank you, Christina! (and to the rest of you—no, I’m not complimenting myself. sheesh.)
I haven’t a clue how I came on here. . . but I’ve been here somewhere at least since before last October, because when I went to the NJ signing and I met Eloisa and she mentioned the blog, I said, Oh yeah, I visit there all the time. LOL
Lois
I am so glad I found Squawk Radio. You ladies give me a reason to smile everyday. Sometimes I even LOL! Sometimes when you aren’t even trying to be funny!
Since my Internet at home is not working, I’m sitting in the Central Library in London, ON after seeing Christina’s announcement. Therefore, Happy Toddlerhood.
I think I originally came from the Fog City Divas. I’ve been on a few blogs for a while but not much during the last few months. Another move in just over a year is no fun. I hadn’t even settled down from the last one before I had to uproot myself again. At least this time it was in the same building. However, I had to go outside, around the building and up a steep flight of stairs. The worst was the change in temperatures: from about 70 in my apartment to freezing outside to 80 in the upstairs apartment. For my pains I got a wonderful 4-week cold and was just unable to finish the move on time. Viel Vergnügen!
Although it’s about forty outside today, you wouldn’t think so because the wind is gusting to over 40 mph. Spring has not yet arrived in this neck of the woods.
If you don’t hear from me again, you’ll know I’m gone with the wind. My Internet certainly seems to be. That’s what happens in the wilds of Canada.
Momofsix, that was a GREAT conference. You Michigan girls know how to have fun. And, hey, we’ve been having temps in the 30s here until just a few days ago. Brrr!
I can’t even remember how I came across Squawk radio I think it started when I signed up to Christina’s newsletter and got an email about it. I am just happy to be here with you all and to celebrate 2nd year anniversary with you’s. This place rocks love you all

Yay! My first anniversary with the Squawkers! Wow. I think I’ve been here for nearly a year. I know I first found out about Squawk Radio when I was browsing the books on Teresa’s sight, looking for one I hadn’t read, when I saw the link. I’ve been hooked ever since!
I love the time machine idea! Very fun to read.

Gosh, I’ve been hangin’ around SR for a little more than a year. I was checking out a book on Teresa’s site when I saw this cute lil’ old chicken thingie … Now being a large fan of poultry I couldn’t resist pokin’ at it. Hey, I was expecting a recipe for fried or fricasseed chicken to pop up …BUT NO! My computer started humming and the screen went black! I guess that I got sucked into a black hole or something. I don’t know… everything’s kinda went hazy after that, doc. But I’m thinkin’ that I got sucked into some strange portal And I could feel myself falling faster and Faster …until…POOF! I was spewed out into The Mystical Realm of Squawk Radio…
Hugging my keyboard to my chest for protection…
Hey, I had never blogged before…
My first thoughts where “Whoa, I ain’t in Kansas any more!”
Dazed. Confused. I stumbled over to the comments button
and
up popped a post from the Good Witch of The Southwest
aka
Lisa Kleypas.
How Cool is that?!
The rest is pretty sketchy after that doc. But I think that I met Santa
And I got hit over the head with a Stone.
Happy Anniversary to all my FAVORITE writers. This place has brightened my day so often I don’t know what I did before I found it through Eloisa’s site. BRAVO Ladies!
Happy Anniversary.
I found the link on Eloisa’s website last December.
Sorry, I’m so late! I’ve been wet-vacing all day!
Well, Squawkers and Squawkees alike know how I feel about you guys! YOU ROCK!!
I can’t believe it’s been two years since I trotted over from the Avon board. I’ve gotten to meet some kickin’ people like Eloisa and Lisa. I’ve been inspired to write my own book....almost done now!! I got to meet on line but soon in person a very dear woman who has become my CP and a very good friend.
Can’t wait for more! It’s been a blast! Here’s to many more years together.
Happy Anniversary! I found Squawk through a newsletter from Christina, and I’ve lurked here for about a year (except for the couple of months when my computer died, and I tried to get it fixed, then decided to buy a new one) I just joined yesterday.
I really loved the elemnopee blog last week. That was LOL.
Happy anniversary, ladies!
I just found and joined the site, and I must say that in the ten minutes or so that I’ve perused the comments you’ve written, I’ve laughed out loud several times, and look forward to reading more!
I’m always late to the party! I found out about this site from Teresa’s website. I was a “lurker” for awhile, and then got brave enough to join last October. I had never posted on a site before, so I was scared I would do something wrong. The sad fact is that I had to ask my son how to post. I’m still living that down.
Here’s to many more years of Squawkradio! You all are the best!
Happy Anniversary to you and thanks for all the fun!
