Okay, so I thought I could get through today without crying but when my husband just told me he wasn’t in the mood for White Chicken Chili tonight, I burst into tears.  Is that a bad sign?

Okay, I’ve wiped my tears and my emotions are under control (I think).  Thank you for heads-up Eloisa.  Otherwise I’d still be sitting here sobbing!

I can’t begin to tell you how sad this makes me.  I check Squawk first thing every morning and many times during the day.  It’s my fun place, my comfort place, my place to laugh and smile and cry and share all those wonderful girlfriend times.  It’s been a wonderful two years and, though I know you aren’t disappearing, you WILL be missed, each and every one of you.  Yes, even you, Kitty.

Having said all that, I do understand why y’all need to step back and concentrate on your writing.  As much as I’ll miss chatting with you on a daily basis, I’m so excited about the future results of all that writing and looking forward to great things from all of you.

Love and Hugs,

PJ

I’m going to miss you ladies! I can’t believe it has been 2 years...time flies. I am going to miss checking into Squawk radio every morning to see what one of you ladies has to say.

I can understand the need for you guys to have your time to write all of the books that all of us squawkers adore!  Can’t wait to read them!

Ahhh The Sisterhood of the Squawkers/Squawkettes is disbanding.  It’s very sad. There’s always e-mails, booksignings and conferences.  A lot of friendships have been formed in hte last 2 years and I hope they will continue.  A big thanks, hug and kisses to all who have made this a wonderful blog to visit on a daily basis, sometimes more than once a day.

PJ and Michelle,
Thank you so much for your understanding!  I can promise you that this decision was made after much discussion and agonizing.  We’ve just loved the blog and loved you guys so much.  But like I said, we’re going to make a real effort to stay in touch!

I’m shocked.  I just discovered SquawkRadiow 6 months ago and I’m so sad you’re going off on great adventures...yes I know, I’m happy for you too, but I’m still a selfish witch who will miss my daily squawk visits.

Amazing how a blog and you wonderful ladies became a part of so many wonderful people’s daily life...just imagine the impact you had on them.  The dreams you inspired them to reach for.  The passion you unlocked within each of us.

Thank you for sharing your time with us.  You will be missed.  But we’ll keep in touch through all your fantastic novels that have yet to be thought of.

Best of wishes,

Amanda

Awww.....I’m going to miss you guys!  I used to check in on you every morning.  To tell the truth, I always wondered where you all got the TIME to do all of this, writing, blogging, managing your families, etc.  I’m looking forward to all the new, great books you all will be putting out.

And I would like to thank you for introducing me to new authors.  I’ve found some great new ones just by checking into this blog.

Good luck to you all!

I am fairly new to the community, but I have enjoyed the blogs and discussions in the last couple of weeks.  However, I love all of your books too, so if it means that you will have more time to write, I don’t mind.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know your readers.  That really means a lot to us, and we loved having the chance to get to know you as well.  Good luck in the future and happy writing.

Love and Luck,

This really has been the best author’s blog sight I have found.  The best part was (and is) I truely like all of you woman as authors.  It was kind of the best of both worlds, I enjoyed your books and got to chat.  I might actually have to get a hobby, if there is no more squawkradio..............

Not to mention....When our house was robbed 2 monthes ago (my lap top was stolen) and I lost a bunch of audio books I bought on line for my MP3...it was a Squawker who sent me a few books on CD.........She also set up an “On line library account” for me.............This gal only knew who I was from this sight.....I just love talking to woman!

You know, I’ve been having a really crappy month and this just threw me over the edge. I guess this is not a cruel and twisted Kitty K-joke, huh?  Wow, I’m really sad about this.  You have brought us such a wonderful community with information and contacts (i.e. authors, editors, sexy men, etc.) over the years that, as my husband said when I just told him the news, you’ve become my heroine (double entendre intended).  We’ve become long distant friends and each others champions, shared stories, laughter, and tears . . . Goodness, I’m going to miss everyone. While I am sad, I am happy that you all are embarking on new endeavors.  It will keep you fresh, motivated and deeply passionate.  You have made lifelong fans out of us.  Thank you for your grace and your time.

You are not only talented writers but amazing women as are all the squawkees on here.  Thanks to everyone and I hope to see you over on Eloisa’s BB.

Nooooo! This kills me. Seriously, I’m dying here! This is the second of my daily-read blogs in ONE WEEK that has announced it’s shutting down.

I won my very first ARC from this blog just a few months ago. I’ve discovered new authors b/c of you guys. I feel like you are friends—and you’re all women I admire as authors and just as straight-out nice ladies. I’m hoping this is all an allergy-medicine induced hallucination.

Will there be periodic get-togethers through your various blogs? Perhaps one of you is a hacker extraordinaire and will be popping up making snarky comments throughout entries on your fellow Squawkers’ blogs? (Why am I thinking of Connie and Christina as I write this? Hmm.)

You will be missed. And cyber-stalked through your personal Web pages.

And since I’m dying to read more and more and more of your books....anything that slows down your writing is tragic and Must Stop! (Said she, selfishly).

I’ve only hung out here for a short while, but it’s been so much fun!  Thanks for the warmth, entertainment and time you’ve lavished on your online community.  We’ll still stay in touch through your websites.... and I might even get in the fan mail habit along the way and send an email once in a while.  (I tried it once and nothing bad happened....)

Gloom, despair and agony on me! Now what am I to do at work?  My company has blocked Eloisa’s BB due to “Adult Content”, but never fear, they also blocked a co-workers son’s pee-wee football site for the same reason.  And I can still get to the site I just can’t read/participate in the BB. mad

I check this site several times a day and even though I don’t always post I enjoy the banter and comraderie with all who do.  This blog is always good for a laugh I will miss it.  Thank you all for being here and doing what you do day after day.  I look forward to reading all of your new novels in the future! (I am a read-a-holic so I have already read all of your backlists.)

I guess I will just have to play games on MSN when I get bored instead. (heavy sigh!) Scrabble Rack-Attack anyone?

Wow!  I, like so many others here, visit you guys religiously every day and will miss you when you’re gone.  While you were here, though, you did tremendous things for me and a lot of other women.  This site wasn’t just about romance novels and their authors.  It was about women coming together for conversation, support and encouragement.  And whenever that happens great things occur.

You’ve all made great things occur in many lives these past 2 years. (Not the least of which was demonstrating the proper use of emoticons wink and learning to love myself despite the occasional typo red face - Connie and Eloisa!). I thank you!

Just as an aside, as a stressed out woman of the 21st century, I’m glad you’re all cutting back and lightening your load.  I, too, was wondering where you guys found the time to juggle family, friends, books, blogging and “me” time.

You are not only talented authors but incredible human beings (the jury’s still out on Kitty).  I wish each one of you all the best!  You go girls!!!!

Best of luck Christina, Eloisa, Lisa, Teresa, Elizabeth, and Connie!  I look forward to reading more from you all in the future.

I’ll miss ALL of you when the time comes!  Everyone here makes my day a little brigher.

Dear Ladies,

I especially like all the books and authors you were kind enough to recommend, I have eagerly read what I could, and the rest are awaiting rainy days and nights when I climb into bed early.

Thank you so much for sharing your time with us, we all appreciate your kindness and your dedication to the joys of reading.

May God continue to bless each of you and your families!

Thank you again!

WOW!  This is like the Beatles breaking up, all over again!

Will truly miss my (two or three times)daily check-ins, but maybe I, too, will get necessary work done.

Thanks for creating such a wonderful and creative community of readers—and authors.  Just think: inventing Jayne Anne Krentz.  If anyone could do it, it would be Christina!

Will look eagerly forward to the new books, and to receiving newsletters from each of you.

MOST reassuring, however, is the knowledge that you are still friends...er, talking to each other...er, not biting anymore.  I have enjoyed a community of bright and witty women—and Kitty—ever so much.

Thanks for the memories, the smiles and the promise of more (just in a different format!)

So sorry to hear that you all will be signing off.  Squawk has been just wonderful, and even though I haven’t been posting as much as I once did (while I try to focus on my writing projects), I do pop over for a visit just about every day.

This has been such a great forum for me to learn more about your writing, other writers, and the romance industry.  And NOW where will I get great music recommendations so that I pretend to be a cool kid?  Sigh.

You’ll be missed!

All the best,

I have to go teach in an hour, and every time I read another posting, I get all teary again. This has been such a special place. The original attraction was finding six writers whose work I loved in one spot, and then I discovered that you were not only talented but also warm, intelligent, and decidedly original. Not surprisingly you attracted others with those same qualities to your cyber home. I have loved being part of this community for two years. I feel as if each of you--Squawkers and other hens alike--has become a friend.

But part of friendship is supporting friends’ decisions, and I do understand that you all need more time to write the books we all love. But I am still very sad! Life just won’t be the same without Squawk. :(

This was the first site in the blogopshere of writers and readers that I started frequenting.

Over the course of all these months, you Squawkers shared your love of books, writing, and your friendship with us, and I felt myself drawn here more and more.  I was guaranteed a fun time, sometimes a heart-clenching time, but with every post and every comment, you became closer and closer to me.

I can’t imagine what life will be like without the camaraderie. I will be gone out of town during these entire ten days of winding down celebrations and parties. So I won’t have time to have a long good bye. Instead, it’s right here. Right now. Gosh, I can’t see through my tears.

With all the loyalty and friendship in my heart, I wish you long writing lives. Hope to hear from you from time to time. In the meantime, I plan on enjoying your latest releases and all your future books.

We will all be haunting the Squawker’s individual websites. We will meet again on the BB and at Writerspace.

Thanks to Liz I have listened to music outside of my comfort zone. Some I have loved and some I’m glad I borrowed from the library. smile

Gina, whatever you do, don’t start a rumor that Kitty Kuttlestone and Miss Snark were the same person.  Kitty is snarky enough as it is.

And yes, Mandacoll, it’s all your fault.  You’re the reason we decided to quit so you should send all of your dark chocolate M&M’s to me and not to Xtina.  After a couple of dozen bags, I might be able to find it in my heart to forgive you wink

Thank you Christina, Connie, Eloisa, Lisa, Liz and Theresa for allowing me to hang out with you for the past two years.  I’ve loved learning and sharing with all the Squawkers and my fellow chickies in the hen house.  I’ve shared stories and experiences with this group that I haven’t shared with others.  And my sheltered world has been expanded by the many viewpoints and experiences all have shared.

Hugs and kisses to you all.  Squawk will certainly be missed.

Well, dang.  I’m just back from getting my mom sprung from the hospital (she’s fine, just knee-surgery and a brief convalescence with us), and I didn’t think I’d get teary checking in.  You guys say the nicest things.  I’m REALLY going to miss blogging (this from the woman who was most hesitant to start Squawk in the first place).  And I’m REALLY going to miss seeing you guys on a regular basis.  :::sniffsniff:::  Like Connie, though, my web site has really gone too long neglected, so I’m hoping to spend more time with that.

Gee, I guess I’m going to have to venture out a bit more on the web now to keep visiting with everyone.  Will check in on Eloisa’s BB from time to time to say hi.  But it’s not over yet!  We still have a couple of weeks of sniping and hair-pulling in us yet!  cool grin

Thanks for providing such a great place to be!

Oh, I’m so sad.  This isn’t some belated April Fools’ Joke is it?  *hopeful look*

Squawk really got me more into the romance community, and I love all you gals.  It’s going to be sad not to see X-tina and Teresa go at it (*g*) and what about all your awesome blogs???

No, I’m not accepting this decision.  No, no, no.  You are staying right here and blogging.  That’s it, and I’m holding the dark chocolate M&Ms as ransom.

But seriously, this is such sad news… I understand how hard of a decision it must have been; I really think that all of you gals should be immensely proud of what you have acheived here - not only did you create a fun atmosphere but more importantly a community.

I found this site courtesy of Keira *take a bow, Keira* and have enjoyed, immensely, my visits here.
For too long I was a lurker, but gradually came a little further out of my egg and began to post the odd time.  Anytime that I was around, the vibes were more than friendly and I have to give credit to you ~ our lovely Squawkers ~ and the wonderful sqawkees!  You set up a terrific place to stop in, visit, catch up on news and visit for a bit.  Kind of like a best friend’s place ya know?

I have had a great time here ~ and will continue to do so for the next couple of weeks ~ DON’T think I’m forgetting that!!  cool smirk
But as so many others have said, if the end result is more books ~ and just HOW did you all manage to blog, write and do your day-to-day stuff… ‘cause I’m more than a little sure that you all have lives away from here, am I right??  hmmm

So, I’m not goin’ to say goodbye yet… mad  I’m not!! *stomp stomp* ... and you can’t make me!!  rasberry

I can’t bear to read all the other posts first, so I’m just gonna write from the heart.  I never thought that I would get emotional over anything remotely connected to the internet.  I mean really an actual community of readers and writers who come together on a daily to share a love of books whose common denominator is true love and a genuine Happily Ever After.

But it has been so much more than that.  We have laughed, cried, shared so much of ourselves.  I certainly did not know that I would share all the best of times and all the worst with you.  And dammit, I’ve started to cry so I’m going to stop here before I screw up my word count here.

I LOVE YOU GUYS!  ALL SIX OF YOU!  And every outstanding person I’ve had the pleasure of blogging with you here.  You have my heart!

I think that we devoted squawk followers should build up a message board for all of us to keep in touch. But as a writer myself (struggling to get published) I know how precious that writing time is, so I understand WHY you’re chasing us out of the coop.

I joined Twolilhahas on her MySpace Squawk Support group and I hope the rest of you will follow.  There are so many wonderful friendships here...let’s not go our separate ways, huh? Please???

I can’t believe it.  I don’t check in one day and this is what happens.  It was exactly 1 month from they day I signed on to your wonderful blog and now it’s coming to an end.  You will be missed!

I wish all of you the best!

I, too, had to log off and give myself time to think about this yesterday.  I was so upset when I read the blog!  But, like everyone else, I can fully understand and accept the decision - ESPECIALLY if it means more books for me to read!
Thank you to all the Squawker Ladies who brought new authors into my life...including some of you!  It all started with my love for Christina’s books and led me to all of you.  Thank you to all the great ladies that blog on this site as everyone was always friendly, funny and engaging.
Good luck to everyone!  And I, too, will be a stalker on your websites...look for me!

Y’all don’t realize how much the Squawkers mean to those of us who are living overseas. It truly has been a way for us to keep “in touch” with what’s going on in the romance world.
Hugs to all of you and thank you for giving us a smile, a tear, or a laugh every day.

Well, I’m speechless...and anyone who knows me would tell you that was something they thought was impossible.

I’ve laughed and cried and read with you. I’ve discovered new authors through you. I loved Kitty’s drunk interviews.

I’ll miss you all. But, blogging is time consuming and creatively draining, so I understand your decisions.

Now, go write us some great books.

Awesome blog topics is just one of the many reasons why I will miss this site so much, I would read them first thing in the morning and think about them during the day once in awhile checking by to see what responses they were getting. That and getting to find out about so many great new books and authors, and interacting with all the amazing author’s on this site, and getting to speak and meet so many nice like minded people, and I could keep going on and on.
I wish I had found this site sooner.
Thanks littlehaha for making the myspace group. Hope to see everyone there!

You’re welcome, cousin it.  The myspace group is an open forum, too.  So anyone can start a topic...or reply to one.  I’d like to see it liven up with lots of chats.

Oh my goodness, I will miss you all so much!  I just got back from a few days of vacation and I could hardly believe what I read.  I do understand completly that you all need to focus on your books; I want to thank you all for the many smiles, tears, and laughter that squawkradio has brought my way.

I went back to reading romance books while I was going through a particulary bad time in my life.  Being able to step away from something that I could not control, and losing myself in the lives of all your wonderfull characters was a lifesaver for me.

Therefore, I promise to buy all your future books and check out your websites.  smile

It truly has been a pleasure.

Oh noooooooo!

A few years ago, I had a breakdown (for want of a better word) and was later diagnosed as being bipolar.  What does this have to do with anything you ask?

Well, I haven’t been able to go out much or see very many people because of the anxiety that came along with it.  SquawkRadio became one of the places that I knew I could safely visit each day and leave with a smile on my face or a song in my heart.  I didn’t post often but I was here.  :D

I’m better now but please know that I will fondly recall my days in the Henhouse.

Now you’ll have to listen to me sing,

“Thanks for the memories...I thank you so much!”

See you in the bookstores, Ladies!

When I heard the news…
I was a little more than shocked
I was sad
but
I was not surprised.
It was obvious to me the first time I entered the Henhouse that Squawk Radio was a special place. It was a labor of love… like a well tended garden. Just like a real garden it needed constant care and attention… and time. So much time. The very thing that you Squawkers have very little to spare.
Sigh…
So really… when I think about it…the thing that surprises me the most is that you where able to keep SR going for as long as you did.
So
Thank you. Thank you for taking the time to share a little piece of yourself…when you had a deadline to meet or a husband who wanted your attention or a lawn that needed to be mowed…Thank you.

Sincerely Yours,

Julie
