Sorry, I voted no spell check--because some of my best laughs come from people’s typos (including my own when I forget to preview) smile

A couple of days ago, you have guest squawker Susan Mallery.  Picked up her book Sizzling.  Loved it.  Have gotten to read some new authors as a result of squawkradio.  Well, local bookstores did not have either Delicious or Irresistible...ah, those Buchanan’s.  Well, this last July I attended the RWA with my daughter, a aspriring, hoping to be published one day historical romance writer.

Well, I got the greatest surprise when I looked through all the books I had received at the various signings.  You guessed it....Irresistible was there and signed by Susan Mallery.  I did my little happy dance.

What a great day.  So, of course I would vote for book recommendations and other authors as guests.  Would like to know more about new, unplublished authors, too.

I was surprised to see more people hadn’t voted for more music recommendations, since I have enjoyed those, but than I realized that it makes sense. We all must like romance novels, or we wouldn’t come here, so of course we’d like more book recommendations, but we probably have widely varied music tastes, so any individual’s recommendations would be of interest to fewer people.

My word today is ‘usually35.’ How true! It’s only on certain days (rather, certain mornings) that I’m 48.

Mistakes can be funnie.

How about suggestions for some authors we’d love to “talk” with?

Just remember...Squawk is THE BEST.

Whatever the poll numbers are, please pick things that are really fun for the six of you.  I know this blog is a lot of work, even with dividing the work.  But you all seem to enjoy talking with us - and that makes it so we can enjoy it too.  So my real vote is, add only what you all think is fun and can enjoy.

Lynn - who can live without spellcheck but could use a proofreader or editor for those stray and poorly chosen words

Thank you, Lynn! We all enjoy Squawk, too, and we’ll do what we can as we can.

Aw Knitterlynn, what a sweet thing to say.  Now when you win our next contest, everyone is going to be suspicious smile

And Statch, it may just be that everybody thinks the Weekly Music Blog is just right like it is.  I know it’s been one of our most popular features.  We understand that if people vote “No” on something, it may not be because they don’t like it but because they don’t want it changed from its current state.  Does that make sense?

So Knitterlynn is winning the Valentine’s Day contest? Okay, I’ll make a note.

I second what you said, Teresa, about a “no” vote not being an “I don’t like it!” vote. I voted no on several things, and I didn’t dislike any of them. I just figured you wouldn’t do *all* of them, so I just voted yes on my favorite ones. And I do love the music blogs, I’ve found some new music that way. I do hope you keep them! But I don’t think I would want it expanded at the expense of something else. That’s all!

And to echo knitterlynn, do what’s fun for you. I’ll be here whichever direction you go.

I have lost track of the number of group blogs by romance writers that I have received word of through author newsletters. Since the newsletters I receive usually come from my auto-buy authors, I check out the blogs. Some of them are excellent, but this one remains unique because of the chemistry among the Squawkers and the ability of the community to be serious, funny, indignant, sentimental, informative, encouraging, compassionate, astringent, and lots of other things as the situation requires.

Visiting SR is one of the gifts I give myself each day. I hope none of the changes will affect the blog’s unique spirit.

Oh thank you Janga!  I honestly don’t have much time to surf the net and I can promise you that visiting Squawk and mingling with you guys is definitely one of the greatest pleasures of my working day.

And why should Connie need spellcheck when she has ME?  (Okay I confess. I gave up about 3 months ago.  I just couldn’t handle the stress any more.)

I do agree with lynn and janga, do what’s fun for you and don’t mess with a winning recipe. Your joy shines through in the blog and that’s what keeps us coming back for more.

That and watching y’all poke fun at each other. smile

Teresa, the pic is great!  I love seeing new photos of you all.  Actually, it would be fun if we all put our current faces in.  And I would do it too, but um, the other photographers in the house are 3 yo and 6 yo . . . Is that a good excuse?

And that randomizer thing over here does seem to like me . . .  tongue laugh

Lynn - trying to get the three yr old to NOT stick wheat crackers in her mouth because “You like it, MOM.”

Thank you to everyone for your kind comments about Squawk. We are truly at the tweaking stage, and our enthusiasm for tweaking will only last until we run out of time and/or patience with each other’s ideas.

Not that we ever actually fight, but (I know this will surprise you), we’re all pretty strong-minded women and sometimes this leads to disagreements. And sometimes we start partying and forget what we’re doing ... speaking of Jane Eyre, PBS is showing a new version tonight. I can’t wait!

Oh, no. Verification is “job24.”

This is kinda related to the “more book recommendations part of the poll”....

THANK YOU all for recommending J. R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series.  I put them on my Christmas list because of a book rec you all gave last fall, got them, and loved them!  My only regret is that the next book doesn’t come out for a little while.  You all are great about helping broaden my horizons when it comes to the books I choose to read.

I have to agree with Janga...the chemistry among all the Squawkers is what keeps me coming back every chance I get.  As long as that stays the same, SR will continue to be one of the first places I visit on the web everyday.  Thank you for all the work you put into SR.

My word verification, “she31.” Very fitting since I am 31.

Terri and I must have shared the same brain today. Because without knowing what she’d done, I went and changed my avatar, too!

And I echo what terri and Xtina said, this is a complete good time for us, too! (And Christina is the most strong minded...)

Well, I won’t go on and on about how wonderful I think you guys are because I would only be echoing what Janga said.  And, let’s face it, she always says it so well!

Unless it’s going to win me some contest or something.  Let me know and I’ll make sure everyone has wading boots!

What exactly do you guys mean by having unpublished authors blog here?  Am I correct in assuming you mean authors who have just been given contracts?  That would be cool.  I was very excited to hear of Connie’s fellow Minn. and would love to hear when her book will be coming out!

Love the Saturday Book review and wouldn’t mind a club springing up around a book.  Love the music blog because it’s my only venue to discovering music that’s new to me.

Other than that, carry on!  BTW, LOVE your avatar Connie.  You look AB FAB!  And I’m not sucking up here!  Really.......

The poll is great! I didn’t vote for spel chek either because misspells are funwink
Other sites, I have seen people eaten alive for misspelling but not here and that is what is great. Alot of fun and personality is shown on this site, without being mean.
I like the backlist info for 2 reasons, I can find books according to my mood easier and don’t ya’ll make money off silly things like selling books?
hehehe.....thanks to all for helping me keep my sanity!!!
