Welcome, Shauna~~ smile

I’m crying my eyes out that I have to work and won’t be able to hang around all day, so I’ll twist JPerryStone’s arm and make her ask them for me!

Hope you have a great time here at the henhouse. Looking forward to playing catch-up when I get home.

Shauna, a huge welcome to you. In the same vein as Kim’s question, how about a little something about MaryB’s latest?  smile

Hi Shauna! Welcome!!

I think I liked Brad Pitt’s hair best in Meet Joe Black or Mr. and Mrs. Smith the most...and along the lines of the Oceans movies…

Wow!  Just sitting down with my morning Diet Coke w/ Lime and already so many comments!

Thanks for the kind welcome--this is my first blogging experience, so go gentle with me....

KMM--her new book Bloodfever goes on sale in mid-October, and I don’t mind saying that it’s fantastic.  This series is shaping up to be one of the most imaginative and compelling that I’ve read.

Mary B.--just turned a non-historical romance reading friend onto her and I’m jealous thinking of all the books she has ahead of her.  But I digress.  Her latest, Simply Magic, is just out.  And here’s the rest of her schedule:
Web of Love (re-issue) 7/07
The Devil’s Web (re-issue 1/08
Simply Magic mass 3/08
Simply Perfect (last book in the series) 4/08

And she’s working on a brand new series, which is going to be terrific.

Is this too long of a comment?

Your comments are perfect, Shauna!  I think the word limit is 200 words and it will tell you if you go over and you can just split it into 2 comments.  You’re wonderful and we’re thrilled that you’re here!

Welcome Shaunna, I love Brad Pitts hair as long as he is attached to it!

I also envy the fact that you have gotten to work with those wonderful writers that I have enjoyed reading.

I am looking to be a book reviewer. What would you say is the most important trait a book reviewer needs to have or know in order to be successful.

I actually don’t know anything about how to be a book reviewer!  I would guess, though, that strong writing skills and an ability to write about a book in a way that is interesting would be key.

Welcome, Shauna! I’m very happy to have this opportunity to ask you a few questions.  On a personal note, I have to say I’m torn between Brad’s beautiful hair in Legends and Interview with a Vampire...decisions, decisions.

1) How would you describe your philosophy/role in the editor/author relationship?

2) Do you, as an editor, discourage your authors from writing in a different subgenre (may not be quite the right word)?  To clarify, if Mary Balogh wished to write a Scottish medieval, would you encourage her or caution her?
> I find myself interested in writing across historical lines, and wondered if this is considered taboo.

3) From your roster of authors, I sense you haven’t limited yourself to a particular style of voice (i.e., romantic comedy).  I know voice is somewhat elusive to explain, but are you able to tell me what caught your notice on authors such as:  Madeline Hunter, Gaelen Foley and Mary Balogh?

Okay, I’m done drilling you now!  smile
Thanks so much for taking the time to answer our questions.  I hope I’m fortunate enough to meet you at Nationals.

Take care…
