Aren’t new music discoveries great?  I made one recently with a group called Hem.  I kept hearing one of their songs as the background music to an insurance company commercial (at least I think it was an insurance company commercial) on TV--a song called Half Acre.  The lead singer is female and has one of those beautifully clear voices that haunt you long after the song is over.  Take a trip to the iTunes store and treat yourself to a free 30 second listen.  You won’t regret it.  My favorite song, Funnel Cloud, is off another of their CDs, which coincidently is also called Funnel Cloud.

Oh Liz, when Buzzcocks songs are put into Disney films..what’s next?, Led Zeppelin in Cadillac commercials...oops, spoke too soon!
Great rec. for the new year..I wonder if he likes those Springsteen comparisons? I guess it’s inevetable, but still..
Hope all is going upward for you, Happy Sunday!

“There’s something in Yorn’s voice as he sings about things gone wrong that makes it seem as if he yearns to set them right again/? Gosh , I could really use some music like that right now. And by the way Liz, Catch!” Julie throws some of Ms Bevarly’s words back at her…They move like a fast spinning split fingered knuckle ball, but Liz catches them with ease.
She looks down at the “ball” in her hand and reads this inscription

I have not been disappointed in any of your musical choices once.
Thanks Liz!
Signed julie

Debby J, I just checked out Hem on iTunes. Very interesting. The lead singer does indeed have a lovely voice that reminds me of someone, but I can’t think who… Sixpence None the Richer, maybe? Anyway, I’ll definitely look deeper. Thanks!

Ms. Mary, things are leveling off a bit, thanks. My mom will be having a partial shoulder-replacement surgery this week (all good thoughts welcome!) and then convalescing with us for a while, and once I know she’s through that, things will definitely be on the upturn.

You’re welcome, Julie!
