Teresa Ponders Another Celebrity Break-Up

I definetely think Whitney and Britney can come back from their marital messes. Maybe they aren’t the sharpest tools in the box - what was Britney thinking when she did that Matt Lauer interview? - but they have talent. Well, in Britney’s case, charisma.
Speaking of couples, I’m rooting for Angelina and Brad and (don’t shoot me) Kate and Tom. I really hope they’re happy together.

Actually, my first reaction was I’ll believe it when I see it because they just seemed so crazily perfect for each other. . . and after so many things that happened which would have made any other person divorce their signifcant other, they haven’t. So, we’ll see. LOL
However, for Britany and K-Fed, there I said finally. For anyone to be surprised at that breakup, they are nuts!

Whitney made really bad choices and has a long road before she gets over making the “Crack is Wack” statement!
I hope so!
I think crack is awfully hard to get over, and that may prove a bigger problem than her marriage. But we teachers get kind of depressing like that. Too many sad stories!

I do believe that anyone and everyone can bounce back from a failed marriage or relationship. Whitney definitely has the talent and staying power but Britney will really have to work at it. I don’t see Britney as a music ICON to remember in years to come. She missed a huge clue with K-Fed: the man left his child and pregnant girlfriend to be with Britney. Now he wants alimony and I guess child support for his other kids and to maintain his present life style. Give me a break but this was the prize she chose. Deal with it.
I think Whitney can make a come back if she wants it bad enough. She has a rare gift in a voice like that.
Forgive me, but I don’t think Britney has the brains or talent to make a go of it for very long. I hope she proves me wrong though.
I was surprised how good Whitney looked the other day. If she can stay away from drugs, I think she can make it. Of course that’s a big if.
I think Brittney is a hopeless case lol.
I think all that idolation and money makes it almost impossible for them to keep stable relationships but most people expect them or want them to live fairy tales lives.
In Whitney´s case I hope for a comeback for her. Or at least to get her life back together.
I am not sure but doesn´t long drug abuse do something to the voice? Maybe I am mixing that up, but I could imagine it being somewhat hard to use her amazing voice like she did before.
In Britney´s case I actually don´t care all that much. I think elsiehogarth is right. The guy left his pregnant girlfriend, so why would he be a responsible father and husband?
I hope the divorce goes as well as possible for her, but her music never interested me. But I do think with good producers and writers she can have a comeback. Not because she is so very talented, but because she still has lots of fans.
I’m glad to see the end of Bobby and Whitney, though I’m not sure you can blame it all completely on Bobby.
It’s funny, Waiting to Exhale was on TV last night and both my husband and I couldn’t believe how beautiful Whitney was 10 years ago. She was married to Bobby for 4 years by then, something else must have triggered the addictions. Too much money to burn? Who knows.
As for Britney and Kevin, I don’t think anyone is shocked. He was trouble from Day 1.
Bobby Brown is blamed for Whitney’s problems, and while I too was delighted to hear that they were finally splitting up I have to admit that I feel she made a lot of bad decisions herself. Just like with Britney. We are so relieved that those two women have “wised up” because it was painfully obvious to everyone else in the world but them that the men they had married were bad news.
As for Tom and Katie, I feel that she too has probably made a bad decision, especailly as it was so rushed. I hope I’m wrong.
I also thought “thank God” in the two cases. And I hope they will come back to where they were before getting married. It happens very often, a married woman divorces and takes charge of her life again.
The biggest problem with Whitney, Britney and other stars is that everybody knows the great mistake they made. So, to the sadness and the grief, you have to add the public humiliation. And people saying all over the world, How could you marry this man?
But I’m glad if they are happy again.
When I heard about Whitney & Bobby, I too said “Finally!” I think she has the talent to make a comeback and I hope she succeeds.
After Brittany’s (24 hour?) first marriage and the whole way she hooked up with KFed...that was a divorce waiting to happen.
I like a few of Brittany’s songs, but I just don’t think she will have the staying power of Whitney in the future.
I hope Whitney still has enough faithful fans to make a comeback, but about Britney--I couldn’t care less. I thought it was shameful that on the night of elections, and the next day, when the future leadership of our country should have been the primary focus, the news channels made Britney and Kevin’s divorce a major topic.
There is only one Tina…
I think most people in the spotlight usually marry like people… K-fed’s light came from brittney.
Katie is star struck.
Whitney… she may have gotten involved in drugs because of Bobby’s involvement. I hope that she stays out of the light for a time focusing on her and Bobbie’s daughter.
And aren’t Angelina and Brad not getting married because not everyone can get married? Or has that changed?
Can I say that the topic of celebrity divorces was interesting for November 15? Cause yesterday was my 2nd anniversary.
I thought FINALLY, too for both Whitney and Britney. Although, the Bravo “reality” show that focused on Bobby Brown made Whitney looked a bit psycho, too.
I think it’s entirely possible for Whitney to have a comeback… she’s got a great voice. I loved her when I was a kid. Plus, she has Clive Davis backing her, so I think that it’s safe to say that there’ll be a new Whitney Housten CD coming out pretty soon.
