TERESA BRINGS YOU SOME FRESH EYE CANDY TO ENJOY
65 Comments
aah! Hotties and Eye Candy. Oh my, oh my.
When I read, and I read A LOT, my mind’s eye develops a picture of the books “hero”. I not only can picture them in my head, I can hear their voices. That being said, I would love to find a real life hottie that would fit my mind’s picture of each of these.
Have I been successful in matching a real life piece of eye candy to say.....Lisa Kleypas’s hero’s in the Wallflower series, her Bow Runner’s etc? Simon, Marcus, Sebastian.
How about Eloisa Jame’s hero’s? Susan Elizabeth Phillips bad boys of sports?
Mostly not yet. But would I ever want to have a hottie picture to look at, that would match my mind’s eye on these guys? I need a hottie for each of them.....Lord Dain from Loretta Chase, Brandon Birmingham form Woodiwiss’s Flame and the Flower.
Janet Evanovich’s Ranger. I have found a few.....to satisfy MY mind’s eye. But no enough....so I keep looking.
Hey, it’s a tough job looking for just the right hottie to be eye candy. But, somebody’s got to do it.
Teresa:
Criss Angel was recently on CSI:NY . My kids knew him, but I didn’t. Once I got a good look at him I sat up and took notice.
I love Carmine. I’ve pictured him as role model for one of my heroes, an underestimated guy. He’s “good things come in small packages” kind a guy.
Oliver Hudson - didn’t make the family connection. duh! He was also in one of Nora Roberts movie- Carolina Moon. Definitely hero material.
Mark Wahlberg, Marky Mark & the Funky Bunch, Calvin Klein ads, doesn’t matter. The boy is hot & has that IT factor. My middle daughter has one of his calvin klein ads as her screen saver. She plans to marry him one day. He has that charismatic smile that just melts you. I believe we are going to see more of Mr. Wahlberg.
Feel the same about Tom Welling. Definitely hot, but a bit too pretty. Wish I had seen him play the bad boy. He definitely has potential.
I like Eddie Cahill, Don Flack on CSI:NY too. He has such piercing blue eye with that dark hair. He has to watch the haircuts though. I like his hair a little bit longer with a lock falling over his forehead. Just so I can brush it back, you know.
Don’t forget Oliver Hudson was also in that Nora Roberts Lifetime movie. I didn’t realize he was the one on that new sitcom. I’ll need to check that out.
I’m liking Hugh Dancy right now. He was Daniel Deronda in the Masterpiece Theatre mini-series and he was in the recent werewolf flick Blood and Chocolate. He’s also going to be in a movie coming out later this year or next called The Jane Austen Book Club which sounds pretty good.
Terrio already knows about this crush of mine but: CURTIS STONE. He’s so hot - blonde, Australian, and a professional chef.
Definitely, the CSI guys have got it all : Eddie Cahill(Flack), Carmine G.(Danny)-both have been on episodes of Law and Order before the CSI gigs and George Eads(Nicky Stokes) CSI-Vegas.
Since I had been watching Criss Angel: MindFreak with the kids, I did imagine him as Julian with the long hair. I don’t like the new look he’s sporting like he did, in last weeks, CSI-Vegas.
Tom Welling is more adorable now then when he was a model. I thought he was good in the “Cheaper by the Dozen”.
movies. I just love eye candy.
Excellent picks, Teresa. All except Chris Angel. I still don’t get him.
My latest TV boyfriend is James Roday - Shawn Spencer on USA Network’s Psych. The show is hysterical and he is absolutely adorable!

Well, it’s because of you, Teresa, that I’m now a rabid 24 junkie...and boy oh boy, do I wanna get me some Keifer, uh, Keefer...Kiefer? (almost done with season 4)
There is something about aging that makes a truly fine man.
Oh, and now I ADORE Toby Stevens, (Mr. Hot-chester in the Masterpiece Theatre “Jane Eyre")
San? post that little thing you sent me...that I watch so much I blew my speakers out.
Harry Smith - the Early Show Anchor. When he did his show “Travels with Harry” I fell in love with him. He is sophisticated, cultured, well-travelled, has a wonderful sense of humor and adventure and is simply scrumptious. He looks like the kind of man who has a true appreciation for life and for women.
Deb
I love George Eads on CSI. He’s so handsome but I just wish he’d pick a hairstyle and stick to it! His 70’s do from last season freaked me out and now he has the no-hair thing going on. It’s like he’s just determined to deny his handsomeness or something.
(And I actually liked him in the mustache from last year. It was a little out of style but made me think he’d make an adorable cowboy.)
Well, now that I’m catching up on movies, since the Netflix thing kicked in…
-I have to say I look up a lot when Eric Balfour (Milo?) is on 24...something about him....
-Ioan Gruffudd..I know there’s a squawker here w/him as her avatar..I watched “King Arthur” (bloody!) and loved his Lancelot in it..as a matter of fact there is a lot of eye candy in that movie!
-Edward Norton..loved “The Illusionist” great movie, and he is has a very attractive quality about him..
J Perry-- welcome to the cult of 24, where we worship at the feet of Jack and Tony Almeida (and if you’re past season 5, don’t say anything!).
Speaking of hotties and 24, is there anyone here who thinks the character of Bill Buchanan is...compelling? Its those bright blue eyes and uncompromising nature, I guess.
I second the Hugh Dancy motion. After watching “Ella Enchanted”, I was hooked.
And like many of you, I wasn’t a big Marky Mark fan. I certainly wasn’t looking forward to watching him in a football movie either, but when you’re on a 18 hr trans-pacific flight, you don’t really have a choice. But after the first shot of him playing football in the mud in “Invincible”...I changed my mind. And the shots of him shirtless… very rewarding. Makes you forget about that kid kicking the back of your seat.
I am the one with the Ioan Gruffudd avatar. I love him! Have you seen ‘Amazing Grace’ with Ioan yet? If you haven’t, run, do not walk to the theatre and see it. It is, well, forgive the pun, but it’s just an amazing movie. I just can’t say enough about Ioan and the movie!!
--dorothy
I love Mark Wahlberg. Italian job is an awesome movie. He was really really good in “Invincible” as well.
Have to see The Departed soon as it comes on DVD.
I tend to stick to the “tried and true” like David Boreanaz, Adrian Paul, and Johnny Depp, but recently, Jeffrey Dean Morgan ("Denny" on “Grey’s Anatomy” and the dad on “Supernatural") and Skeet Ulrich ("Jericho") have definitely caught my eye. Hubba, hubba.
OK, I think I may post while lying down...too much swooning from all the pretty pictures
Ashefrog - I so agree about I like Eddie Cahill (Don Flack - CSI NY). Something about that dark hair, those bright eyes, and that beautiful smile.
I like Mark Wahlberg too and Ioan Gruffudd… I’m not sure where we are with CSI NY but I’ll keep a look out for Criss Angel. Your book still hasn’t made it down here Teresa
but I’m keeping an eye out for it!
Oh, not sure who watches this, but what about the actor who plays Lee Adama in Battlestar Galactica (the new series)?
orannia *who thinks this is a great way to start the weekend*
I’m with Dorothy on Ioan Gruffudd and the movie Amazing Grace. I went the weekend it came out (by myself so as not to be bothered) and it was incredible. Let’s just say, when the screen finally went black, the audience applauded. Yep, it was that good.
And I’ll throw in Scott Patterson (Luke Danes) and Matt Czuchry (Logan Huntzberger) both of Gilmore Girls. I’ve never been big on blonds but I just love Logan. Such a cutie.
Hi Colinfirthfan - The Departed is on DVD now and is fantastic!
Deb
Ooohhh, thank you Teresa for a wonderful afternoon lift. This has been the most hectic day, in and out of meetings.
All those guys are sooooo hot!
Teresa, I did not like George Eads mustache, too much like porno star.
What about Wentworth on Prison Break???
He’s a cutie!
Terrio, when I went to see ‘Amazing Grace’, I took my son with me. I know he went into the showing with the ‘another one of mom’s boring movies’ attitude. But on the way out of the showing he said that he had enjoyed the movie. My kids seem so shocked that I can pick a good movie. lol
We went the night it opened here in Albany, NY and the theatre was packed. I totally didn’t expect that. And there was a round of applause when the movie was over.
The next movie I’m dragging my son to see is ‘The Queen’. I know, I know, I’m behind on seeing this one. Everyone who’s seen it says it’s wonderful.
--dorothy, who is woefully behind in her moviegoing.
Toby Stephens is my new obsession thanks to Jane Eyre. He is the definition of “dreamy.”
And I love Kyle Chandler from Friday Night Lights (which is filmed here in Austin!). For those of you who don’t recognize the name, he’s also “The Bomb Squad Guy” from Grey’s Anatomy.
And yes, nanadirat, I agree about Cedric Diggory! He was a great hero, but not a goody-two-shoes. I knew he was going to die bcause I had already read the book, but it was still devastating!
I hate to sound like a Tiger-Beat teenager, but has anyone seen the pictures of Daniel Radcliffe in his new play? Wow, Harry Potter has definitely grown-up nicely!
I’m dying here because I haven’t seen the new JANE EYRE yet! Must order posthaste!
And Emily, I haven’t seen the new Daniel Radcliffe pics yet but I have to confess that for the past couple of HARRY POTTER movies, I’ve definitely seen the potential. (But I’m afraid I’ll get arrested for admitting it!)
(And my verification word is Zipper99. Bar har har!)
Those Radcliff pictures are not your Harry Potter material are they? And he’s only 17. When he really grows into that body....look out.
That’s all I can say. The fact that I’m old enough to be that boys mother makes me unable to go any further...LOL!
Raoul Bova - he was Diane Lane’s Italian love in Under a Tuscan Sun and he was in Alien vs Predator (a movie I know is on everyone’s must see list). This man is incredibly HOT.
Teresa, I’m only about 7 years older than Daniel Radcliffe, but I still felt it wasn’t “proper” for me to appreciate those photos! I guess it’s because he grew up in front of us.
I second many of the nominations above, but probably my favorite celebrity crush right now is John Krasinksi, who plays Jim on The Office. He is absolutely adorable. And I love the Jim character - who doesn’t want a guy who pines after her?
I read the book first, too, but I didn’t expect to like him so much… Yeah I cried like a little girl at the end.
As for Daniel Radcliffe… Yeah, I feel like a creep every time I have to remind myself that that’s Little Harry Potter! I keep forgetting I’m not in high school anymore.
Speaking of creepy, my daughter was watching LazyTown the other day and I was REALLY enjoying Sportacus (aka Magnus Scheving). I need therapy. But hey, without the weird mustache and the tight blue pantsuit… well, without the tight blue pantsuit… um, what was I saying?
I agree with everyone about the pics of Daniel Radcliffe from the play he’s doing. My oh my, the boy is growing up nicely, isn’t he? I knew he was going to be a cutie from the first time I saw his picture when they announced he was going to play Harry Potter.
I first noticed Toby Stephens when he played the Duke in an adaptation of ‘Twelfth Night’. I’m not usually a huge Shakespeare fan, but I did like that movie. I have to get ‘Jane Eyre’ and watch it now!!
Teresa, thank you so much for posting the pictures.
--dorothy
My eye candy is young enough to be my son but if men can have young women dressing up their arms, we ladies should be allowed the same. That said, give me David Krumholtz/Charlie Epps of NUMB3RS tv series. He’s the math wizard. Be still my ‘young at heart’ heart!!! I love his hair: curly and messy....
Such handsome men!
I think Kevin McKidd (Rome - Lucius Vorenus) is definitely handsome. Also, the guy who plays Jack on “Men with Trees”, boy oh boy!!
Have a good day ladies!
Is it any wonder I’m a CSI freak!! I adore those lab boys.
Another hottie that is woefully too young for me is the guy who plays Reese on Criminal Minds. His name is Mathhew Gary Gubler. From this season - I like his hair. There’s something deliciously Beta about him! And how could I forget Shemar Moore (Malcolm HOT from Young and the Restless), Thomas Gibson (tortured soul - that’s my kind of guy) from that same show.
And Wahlberg (both brothers) have aged so nicely. Yes indeed!
YES to Cris Angel as Julian!!
So any pictures of any of the above - well - I wouldn’t sneeze at!!
Thanks, Teresa, for putting Toby’s picture up there! You definitely have to get the new Jane Eyre! I’m sure it will give you inspiration for future novels!
I have to agree with Skeet Ulrich, George Eads, Wentworth Miller, and Phil Keoghan (Amazing Race) has the looks and the personality to go with them. Another CSI guy to watch is Adam Rodriguez on CSI: Miami, he is the only reson I watch the show and when he was shot I thought I was going to be sick.
There is nothing better than watching either a movie or TV show and have to stop the droll from showing to others in the room.
Have a great day.
Steph, I totally agree about Adam Rodriguez. I’ve thought he was a hottie since I first saw him playing Jesse on Roswell. Yummm.
OK...I know we talked about him all the time in November...but I still haven’t gotten over Daniel Craig! OMG!
But I have to admit to falling for older men. I could never see the appeal of Brad Pitt until the last five years. Maybe he just didn’t have that seasoned animal appeal that men accrue over time.
For example, did you realize that the monk attempting to assasinate Queen Elizabeth in the ‘98 Cate Blanchett version of “Elizabeth” was Daniel Craig? I had always dismissed that tiny part as an interesting but not riveting male part in the film, completely ignoring who the guy was that killed a servant with his bare hands...Until I was watching it the other night and I noticed something about the way the monk prowled about the castle...it looked familiar. I checked it out on IMDB, and there he was. Daniel Craig...ten years younger and not quite so rugged around the edges, but still capable of hunting his quarry down in a really appealing manner. LOL
Not the face, not the eyes...his walk. *shrug* I dunno...but there it is. Anybody for a walk on the beach? LOL
Miss__annalee, consider me converted to the cult. I don’t know where the hell I’ve benn though. Truth is, I resisted getting involved in 24 and can remember feeling, “Oh brother, not Keifer (kiefer, keefer??) again,” when I watched the Emmy Awards for the past four year.
But now! Well, now I’m sorry I ever doubted. Teresa kept yammering about it here, I finally capitulated, and now my husband and I are OBSESSED--Teresa’s fault entirely.
My husband calls it “precious,” a la Gollum in LOTR with that ring. We try to watch at least 2 preciouses a night.
It’s been two months since we started.....we have 4 more episodes to season 4. Obsessed, I tell you.
And do a wicked Tony Almeida walk, if I do say so. If you go to Nationals, I’ll show you.
What the hell happens in season 5?
Teresa, I’m sending you a risque link full of Toby Stephens.
Ok, I would just like to add to this growing list of good looking guy.....James Franco. There is just something about him that is so sexy, especially when I saw him in Tristan & Isolde.......I want one just like him!!!!
Teresa, I certainly agree about Red Kryptonite Clark. He looks much better with his hair all mussed and acting all naughty.
And Happiness is Reading, I always cast the books I read too. Paul Walker(from Timeline and Eight Below) was Kevin Tucker and Dean Robillaird. Matthew McConaughey as Dally Bodean. Dermot Mulroney as Cal Bonner. And Adrien Brody as Colin “the Duke” Byrne.
I’ve been casting Matthew Macfayden, Gerard Butler and David Wenham in all of the historical novels I have been reading lately.
And Daniel Radcliffe, I have jeans older than him and all, but who knew he was hiding all that under those robes…
John Stamos!
Ooh, how about Michael C. Hall? Just love him in “Dexter”. I suppose that makes me a little bit twisted, but oh well!
What about Jensen Ackles from Supernatural? I also agree with whoever suggested David Boreanz. My secret crush would have to be Brendan Frasier, as he was in the Mummy.
“What about Jensen Ackles from Supernatural?”
Did someone call?
Too pretty for words.
Brother Sammy is pretty too, especially when he smiles. Or is evil. He also has a remarkable ability to look like he’s 15 again.
I’ve always loved Angel (DB) best when he was evil. Though this is pretty cute. So young-looking here, for a 230 year old vampire.
OMG!! George Eads! *drool* I’ve been head over heals for him since the first season of CSI...I just can’t get over the nice guy with the VERY subtle Texas twang! I hated the 70’s doo though...and the mustache wasn’t a big hit with me either...but mmmmm...so tastely
Has anyone seen Toby Stephens in Anne Bronte’s The Tenant of Wildfell Hall? He was wonderful in Jane Eyre, but in the Tenant he was absolutely DIVINE!
Hmmm… Some of my favorites are David Boreanaz, Rob Morrow and David Krumholtz (Numb3rs) and Paul Gross (Due South).
Michael Cassidy and Kevin Zegers from the movie Zoom.
Kevin Zegers is also going to be in The Jane Austen Book Club which looks really good.
Hugh Laurie (Greg House) and Jesse Spencer (Dr. Chase) from House, Jason Dohring (Logan) from Veronica Mars, Justin Chambers (Alex Karev), Patrick Dempsey, (Derek) and Eric Dane (McSteamy) from Grey’s Anatomy.
I forgot about Toby Stephens. He is a total Regency Rogue. He is my second favorite Mr. Rochester after Timothy Dalton. He’s got great acting genes since Dame Maggie Smith is his Mum.
I have to say this is the best post to wake up to!! *drools*
Isn’t Criss Angel WONDERFUL? And I still think he makes an excellent Julian. I’m so glad that I found his show (channel surfing has it’s up sides, apparently!)
I’ve also adored Eddie Cahill since he did the short WB series Glory Days. (EXCELLENT, btw.) He has the most amazing eyes. I think I’ve always been a sucker for light eyes and dark hair.
Mark Wahlberg...I still have a hard time getting passed the whole Marky Mark thing. And to this day I refuse to watch Italian Job because Marky Mark punches Edward Norton, and that is impossible in my universe.
Toby Stephens was superbly HOT as Rochester! He was great in Photographing Fairies, too.
Daniel Craig is a fantastic James Bond.
But alas, Gerart Butler is the sexiest man alive in my book! Can’t wait to see him in the 300. The reveiws are great and say this will make him the next Russell Crowe.
I’ll’ 2nd Lee Adama, who is played by English actor Jamie Bamber (who recently guest starred on Ghost Whisperer and Cold Case). And if you watch BSG, you can’t forget Helo, played by Tahmoh Penikett, he’s definitely hot.
I also, agree on Jensen Ackles. I started watching Supernatural because of Jared Padelecki, and stayed becasue of Jensen (and well the show also happens to be awesome)
I’m surprised no one has mentioned the boys from Heroes yet. Adrain PAsdar, Milo V (have no idea how to spell last name), even Jack Coleman who plays Mr. Bennet has something that draws you to him.
Yes, Jenn, it was you, wasn’t it?! Weren’t you the one who first mentioned Criss Angel as Julian?
And if J Perry doesn’t stop sending me pornographic material of Toby Stephens...well...I’ll have to send her some fresh baked cookies or something.
And J Perry, I can’t get my husband to watch 24 with me but I think he’s just jealous of me and Kiefer. The very name Jack Bauer now sends a delicious shiver down my spine. He’s just about the coolest character on the planet at the moment.
I seem to miss the most important threads! :D
I´d like to add the handsome and lively David Tennant (Doctor Who) to the list of hotties and of course there is no way one can miss Richard Armitage as adorable John Thornton (Gaskells “North and South") or as the baddie in black leather Guy of Gisborne in the recent BBC “Robin Hood” series.
Both are currently on the top of my list of favourite hunks
I just got the two disc special edition of Lost Boys. Jason Patric and Kiefer as teen vamps...Mmmmm!
My verification is outside18. Reminding me to act my age. As if.
Hehe it was me. It was around the same time I discovered Criss that was reading the books, so I think that’s why I made the immediate connection
All this talk about 24. I’ve only seen a couple episodes (*gasp* I know), and I think they were smack dab in the middle of something kind of complicated, so I was a bit lost. I think that 24 will be one of those that I have to rent all the episodes from the movie store and just watch them all the way through :D
A HUGE “for sure” on Tom Welling. If they ever bring la Nora’s In Death books to the big screen, his face is angelic enough to pull off Roarke in my opinion. And after seeing “Bad Clark” on red kryptonite I know he could do Roarke.
I think Lex Luthor/Michael Rosebaum is great looking too!
How about Kyle Schmid from the new Lifetime series “Blood Ties” - http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/Kyle_Schmid/
How about:
George Clooney
Josh Holloway
John Stamos
Michael Weatherly from NCIS
Patrick Dempsey
Yes, yes, YES to Michael Rosenbaum, Leslie C! It was such a thrill meeting him in Metropolis, Illinoise last year at SUPERMAN day. He had hair but if he moved or talked a certain way, you could just see Lex all over him. Three teenaged girls were walking down Main Street together and their shirts spelled out SEXY EVIL GENIUS
for those of you who see McLeod’s Daughters, I think the fellow that plays Riley is gorgeous and Aaron Jeffery aint bad either
It’s a wonder the camera didn’t melt:
Jared Padalecki, Michael Rosenbaum, Tom Welling and Scruffy!Jensen Ackles (with Dawn Ostroff(sp?)).
And I’m very amused that Cute!Dean (as opposed to Hot!Dean) is taller than Superman. Padalecki is a giant.
What a fabulous picture, firefly! LUCKY GIRL!!!
Heh. I think they have to be nice to her; she’s the head of the CW or something like that.
Teresa said: “I can’t get my husband to watch 24 with me but I think he’s just jealous of me and Kiefer.”
Oh Teresa, he must! He would love it so much. All you have to do is get him to watch only one.
You also said: “And if J Perry doesn’t stop sending me pornographic material of Toby Stephens...well...I’ll have to send her some fresh baked cookies or something.”
Just recently I watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and I was really struck by Robert Pattinson, who played Cedric Diggory. It didn’t hurt that he’s gorgeous, but his character was so noble it made you dream of the wonderful man he’d mature into… and then they killed him off. Boo.
