Lisa, yes, those are some of my favorite scenes.  Raspberries are good LOL.  I love so many of those scenes from your books, from Justin and Cecelia to Logan and Maddy to my faves Zach and Holly...sigh…

Teresa I have that one and the previous book in my tbr pile - now I want to stay home and read them!

Oh, golly, I haven’t finished my tea yet...how do you expect me to THINK???

Um...the first book that automatically comes to mind is Jude Deveraux’s The Awakening...it’s been years since I read it but I do remember thinking that the scene where Hank takes Amanda’s virginity was one of the most tender--yet hot--love scenes I’ve ever read.

And ALL the love scenes in Elizabeth Lowell’s Only You.  I was afraid the pages were going to spontaneously combust. LOL!

Oh, now this is fun...my verification word is “inside” hee hee…

These are all favorites of mine; although, I’ve yet to get my hands on ‘All Through The Night’ and ‘Take Me I’m Yours’!  Can you believe it?  I hang my head in shame.....

Other favs: Eloisa James’ TOD and the priest hole.  I adore Rafe!

Connie Brockway’s ‘Hot Dish’.  Just two words: Steve Jaxx and fish house.  Okay, so that was five words.  I’ll add one more: HOT!!

There are far too many from so many wonderful authors.  Honorable mentions to Mary Balogh, Loretta Chase and Elizabeth Boyle to name but a few.

Ah, Monday morning sex..why not? grin

-Lisa’s scene in ‘Suddenly You’ with Amanda and Jack in the carriage after the Christmas party, yes!

-Karen Moning’s “The Kiss of the Highlander” when Drustan and Gwen finally get down to it inside the Stone circle..

-Lordy, JR. Ward’s “Lover Awakened” between Z and Bella’s ‘needing’ deal..had to smoke a cigarette myself, after that one.

Hey Teresa, How was the book fair?

Vampire love scenes are about the best around, because they seem to give so much more to your sense.

In contemporary books I like it when the man is able to take charge so that the woman can let herself go and just live in the moment.

I’m having student conferences all day today; one student just left, and the next is due to arrive in five minutes. What a topic to be reading and writing about in such circumstances.

Eloisa, I know you are not fond of math, but you can count--1-2? <g>

I love all those mentioned, and I have read them every one.

I am sure I will think of others, but one that always comes to mind immediately when I think of favorite love scenes is the scene in MJP’s Shattered Rainbows where Michael seduces Catherine. That scene is a wonderful example of tenderness and passion.

Another favorite is from Nora Roberts’s The Return of Rafe Macade after Regan wears the red dress and Rafe recites poetry. Sigh! I really have to reread.

Like MacArthur, I will return, smile

I know a love scene is good when I can hear the soundtrack in my head while reading. The first scene between Nick Gentry and Gemma Bradshaw in “ Worth Any Price” (Kleypas) was Enigma’s Sadness Part I . I just finished"The Vampire Who Loved Me” and that was Lullaby by The Cure. Usually after I read the scene and the songs have materialized, I have to buy the CD or put it on the i-pod.

I just ordered All Through the Night - the others scenes I’ve read and I totally agree !

These are books I pick up often and reread (usually starting with the more intimate parts which leads to rereading the whole book):

Two books by Sara Donati:  Into the Wilderness when Nathaniel and Elizabeth make love for the first time (it’s a cave filled with furs behind a waterfall for the setting!) and Fire Along the Sky when Lily and Simon make love for the first time (after she shaves off his beard).

Connie’s My Surrender - when Charlotte invites Dand to be her first experience before she goes off to be a mistress.

Lisa’s Lady Sophia’s Lover - EEK.  Ross is so hot.

Eloisa’s The Taming of the Duke and Rafe and Imogen’s first time.  Sigh.  And PFP - there is something about Mayne and Josie in the hayloft on their first full day of wedded life that just gets me.

Finally, one Stephanie Laurens:  To Distraction - because Deverell is so slow and patient in wooing the damaged Phoebe and he really loves all of her.

Thanks for the blog today - maybe it will get my mind off of what’s going to happen to Meredith and Derek on Gray’s Anatomy :D

Among my personal favorites are Sebastian and Esme, when Sebastian, bless his heart, tells Esme that he’s a natural athlete and so has every faith in his abilities—faith which turns out to be quite well-founded, thank you very much.  He also writes her an extremely romantic love letter (in the next book in the series) and quite stole my heart away.

Another favorite is found in Mary Balogh’s “The Temporary Wife”.  Anthony has married Charity to spite his family, but there is a beautiful love scene where he realizes he has “come to the place he had always looked for”, as their growing physical intimacy represents a growing emotional intimacy that they do not yet recognize or know how to articulate.

And of course there’s Balogh’s “The Notorious Rake”, where Mary and Edmond make love in a thunderstorm as in her terror she tries to climb under his skin.  She discovers a passion she didn’t know she had, and he rediscovers his soul.

This is by far the most fun way to start the week than I’ve had in a long time!

I’m sure you can all help Eloisa choose a second scene by reminding her of some of your favorites!

I have to agree with Connie about All Through the Night...that scene is so hot, it flusters me just thinking about it!

I also have to agree with knitterlynn about Connie’s My Surrender...as I said before, Dand is one of my favorite heroes, so anything he does is sexy…

I just started Christina’s A Well Pleasured Lady, and now I’m so excited I almost want to flip forward. The sexual tension between Mary and Sebastian is fantastic!

Can’t think of others off the top of my head, but I might check in later…

But being the selfish creature that I am, I have to confess that my new fave love scene is in my own latest work. My husband read it and said, “Good Lord, can you put that in a romance novel?!?”. . . My editor said “Yes!” heehee

Victoria, my picture reminds me of my favorite Scottish joke too.  I would presume this would be the song about the blue ribbon, right?  “I don’t know where you’ve been my bonnie friend, but I see you’ve won first prize!”

I do have to second Connie’s “As You Desire"--big time.

I think my favorite love scene of Christina’s is in “Once a Knight"--or possibly “A Knight to Remember"--they were both funny and hot and, well, funny.  I love funny.

I think my favorite Eloisa’s love scene, aside from Rees who is so bad it’s hysterical, is Mayne in Pleasure for Pleasure.  The greatest lover--and yet he and Josie have to keep “trying” to get it right.

And I’m pretty sure every love scene of Lisa’s is enough to spontaneously combust!  (Suddenly You is probably my favorite--though Dreaming of You might be first.)

Ms. Mary, I concur about Zsadist and Bella together during her needing time--I felt the urge for a cigarette, too and I don’t smoke!  HOT!!!

I love when Dougless and Nicholas finally get together in A KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR.  She’s been doing everything she can to get his attention and thinks he’s ignoring her, when all the while he’s been restraining himself because he doesn’t want her to grieve for him if he goes back in time.  WOW!!  They start out in the bed, and end up on the floor.  In the process they knock a lamp off the table, I think and Dougless definitely gets rug burn. wink

Okay...the first scintillating scene that popped into my mind was from Eloisa’s Duchess in Love - but not the hero and heroine (even though they were lovely)!  I’m talking Esme and Sebastian - for once she is taking HIS v-card! Not to mention the tension between the two characters that builds to this scene makes it a very passionate, um, culmination.

I have to fling in and say if I’m in The Mood, but don’t have time to sink into a long novel, I read a Harlequin Presents. They’re purely about sexual attraction. Ladies,

One of my favourite love scenes is between Alexandra and Jordan in Judith McNaught`s SOMETHING WONDERFUL. It happens, when A&J are united again and in the middle of it Jordan asks:"Don`t you want me?” and Alexandra answers:” I don´t want to want you.” Oh my, what a love scene...Begins on page 316.

And I do love all the love scenes between Evie and Sebastian in LISA´S DEVIL IN WINTER. And LADY SOPHIA`S LOVER has very intimate moments too.

And TERESA´S BILLY in NOBODY´S DARLIN can do a trick or two…

Fave love scenes - I always love the ones where’s an element of catching the hero and heroine in flagrante delicto

There are lovely, luscious scenes in Teresa’s Once An Angel, but the one that makes me laugh is p.339 when the whole household wakes up and Emily has to somehow explain the loud crash.

And I also love the scene in Lisa’s Lady Sophia’s Lover at the house party when everyone was playing a murder mystery game and Ross & Sophia were preoccupied...(p. 181).

Sexy scenes I remember?

Well, there are some dillies in the trio of books I recently finished: The Prescott Sisters by...can’t remember her name. Ha.

Some especially memorable scenes are in “Just the Way You Are” and in “Close to You”. That Zack, such a grumpy businessman can sure set any lady on fire.

Because it’s one of my favorite books as well, I’ll just mention “The Charmer” by Madeline Hunter. The sexy scenes in that are so tender especially since Adrian doesn’t expect to survive the duel he has to fight. He’s just trying to show instead of say as much as he can in the time he has left.

But there are a lot of other scenes I love. However, my writing time is limited. So, bye for now.

Oh, and I’m glad I don’t *have* to get anybody else to sign up. Mine is a very lonely road here as a romance reader. None of my family or friends read, never mind approve of romances of any kind. They’re constantly on my case to get me to stop reading and buying them too. Well, I had a head start in reading on them. They were still in diapers. What can I say.

Also, Christina Dodd’s Almost Like Being in Love- the kitchen/knife/chair/table scene…

And again in Christina Dodd’s governess series about a hero with “eyes the color of sin"- and a very compelling scene to follow, not dissapoint and prove that the color was truth. so very delightfully sinful.....

One of my favourites is definitely the love scene at the end of Dorothy Dunnett’s checkmate. One of the most emotionally satisfying scenes I’ve ever read (especially since I kept bawling my eyes out for most of the second half of that book).

Another one: the reunion love-making in DG’s Voyager. *sigh* Soooo lovely!

One of my favourite scenes to do with sex, but which is not actually a sex scene, is Celeste explaining sex to Hyacinth in Christina’s In my Wildest Dreams: “‘Between a man and a woman, there is much’ - Celeste paused, but could think of no delicate word to describe the condition - ‘nudity.’” Oh. My. Gosh. It’s so funny!!!

Two books that would definiely go on my list of favorite love scenes are Adele Ashworth’s Winter Garden and Judith Ivory’s The Indiscretion, but in both cases, choosing one scene is difficult because the sensuality is so layered in the developing relationship of H/H. Great topic!  Some of my favorite love scenes are from The Prize by Julie Garwood and A Countess Below Stairs by Eva Ibbotson.

Aw thank you, JennyBrat!  You’re bringing back some very happy memories for me!  (And for Samantha and Laura wink)

And J, don’t even try to pretend that it’s Julian that makes your heart beat faster when we know it’s Wilbury!  You’ve probably imagining his withered claws caressing you even as we speak while he rasps crabby nothings in your ear.

From the first page to the last, Lisa Valdez’s Passion was hot! And anything by Sarah McCarty raises the temperature of the room.

Okay, that just turned me on.  Honestly, I LOVE him so much!!!

No San (she just called me screaming).  I blame the squawkers for my PAST pregnancies, because seriously, who better to play to a woman’s best sex organ (HER MIND), than another woman?

okay, I’m convinced..I need to read me all the Garwoods that have been sitting on my TBR forever!!!! (did I mention my TBR is like a few hundred high?)
Lora Leigh’s Dangerous Games -It’s relatively new one..but not for everyone… a lot of BDSM....but the hero is hot....and hello foreskin piercing...let’s just say the whole book has a whole lotta HOT sex that will be thumbed to death!
Kelley Armstrong ~Bitten has some intense scenes…
Kresley Cole A Hunger Like No Other....(WOW) I need me some of that werewolf boy!
That Nick Gentry one was very good...He was my second favorite of LK’s heroes…
Nicole Jordan...YOU CANNOT forget her books cause they are hot!  Wicked Fantasy is really great the hero (God I hate remembering names~I think it was Deverill) But is intro’d to the heroine early in the book and the get all hot and bothered kissing and his leg gets some good use..and the heroine gets off just fine!  *w*
Gaelen Foley’s Lord of Ice was INTENSE! The hero is all dark in brooding and he just seemed all intense and hot and quiet in the bedroom but all in control...sigh…
Now seriously I need to stop cause I could probably easily list 50 more books....

Oh crap, I forgot Gaelen (thanks for reminding me Tiffina).  I’m so ashamed…

My two favorite scenes from her are:

Princess (Daruis--so terrible tortured, what more could you want)

and

Lord of Fire (the twin of the one in lord of Ice).

Oh, and I almost forget....in Outlander when Claire “deflowers” Jamie.  The conversation before it happens is so touching and I love it when she’s done and indicates that male virginity is highly underrated… grin

Suddenly You just hooked me with that scene with Jack and Amanda –not only did they have amazing chemistry but I applaud Amanda for making such a courageous and empowering decision—taking a lover at the (way on the shelf) age of thirty. Also, this was one of only a few books I’ve read where you get the tantalizing Bada Bing (and you’re really hoping for the Boom) at the beginning of the book but you have to wait for the Boom—which is worth the wait.

As for a Devil in Winter I really liked how Evie and Sebastian consummate their union in the morning --even Sebastian isn’t up to it (no pun intended) the night they’re married after such a mad dash to Greta Green.  The scene works so well because Evie is caught up in her dream/fantasy of the well sprite/spirit but is really being gently seduced by Sebastian. For such a selfish bad guy, Sebastian is incredibly tender with Evie and is surprised and shocked to have such a significant sexual experience himself! I also liked how Sebastian teases Evie with what he plans to do to her when the bet is over and givers her more than a few well placed kisses!

Some of my other favorites scenes.

A Perfect Hero by Samantha James. Check out page 183. I loved this story because as a highwayman (mmm—a masked man) Dane is a gentleman but when Julia meets him later as Lord Granville he’s not a gentleman at all!

Lady of Sin by Madeline Hunter page 15. Another book that gets a sexy running head start. This story also involves masks but it’s the heroine Charlotte that hides from hero Nathaniel.

P.S. Congratulations chicks! Happy two year anniversary!

I would definately have to say all of J.R.Ward’s Books. But mostly LOVER AWAKENED. God, you just gotta love those tortured heroes! *swoons*

I’d also have to say all of the scenes in Lynn Kurland’s THIS IS ALL I ASK. Once again--tortured heroes. Though, he’s more depressed than tortured… *shrugs* But every time I read that books it makes me tear up from sheer happiness!

I have to admit that Devil in Winter is my fav love scene.  St. vincent is sooooo HOT!!

And Evie is one of the few heroines I absolutely loved, she is so endearing and it is so awesome when she finally got her man.  These two characters had so much chemistry their raw passion smoldered off the pages.  I oh so loved the kissing scenes too, it made the love scenes oh so much better

Christina - THE. ELEVATOR. Nothing more need be said.

Lisa - I was just thinking about DIW last night and Sebastian & Evie have some of my favorite love scenes in literature

Teresa - TVWLM - that was just great. I loved that scene!!!!

Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward - Z & Bella during Bella’s needing period. It was powerful, intense, and developed the characters. Don’t want to put plot spoilers so I won’t say more.
