WHAT BLOG? ELOISA’S OUT SHOPPING!

Eloisa - I just got back from buying my 12 year old a guitar and case! He wanted an electric but I want him to learn on acoustic so we bought him an “acoustic with electric pickup” that plugs into an ampliphier. There are way, way too many choices! He definitely sees himself as a budding rock-n-roller. We also got him a bunch of old rock band t-shirts (Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, etc.). I gave up on the Wii this week.
I still haven’t decided what to get my daughter (age 9). She actually doesn’t ask for very much, which makes it kind of hard. I need to get cracking!
Kids were sick, I was sick...I couldn’t be more behind. Good luck with the last minute stuff, everyone!
Still have to get something for my dad. Bought him one DVD already but I still have to pick up a few more little things and a calendar.
Nothing left to buy!
I still have to get some little things to put into my boys’ stockings. And I also need to pick up something to put under their fake christmas trees that they each have in their room.
I also need to get things to go into my dinner for two basket that I am taking with us to my dh’s aunts house. We are visiting for three days after christmas and I need to bring something.
Have a Merry Christmas everyone!
I have to get my sister What to Expect When You Are Expecting.....I’M GOING TO BE AN AUNTIE!!! She has been trying for 7 years and wants to do it right so the ultimate book!
Eloisa: I recommend glitter in a jewelry box for fairy dust. We went through that and my oldest was thrilled (my vacuum wasn’t) and I hope your boy supports you!
I need wrapping paper for Santa. (Yes, kids do notice those things!) And to go by the bank because Santa leaves $5 in the kids stockings every year. Other than that, I am DONE!!!!
Oh! and I guess I’m done because I found the entire Essex sisters set yesterday so I have ‘work’ to do!
I’m done, but then our big family Christmas is tomorrow so I better be! I’m almost done wrapping, I’m finishing up the baking now, and hopefully will even have some time to sit and relax tonight (we’re going to my sister’s for Christmas, thank God I don’t have to worry about cleaning).
I sympathize with your search for gifts. I have 9 nieces and nephews that are between the ages of 22 and 12. While gift cards are a good backup plan, I like to give actual gifts at Christmas, but they are soooo hard to buy for! I think I did OK this year, we’ll see......
Eloisa, you’re looking for the Baby Alive doll! It’s fairly reasonable, and drinks, pees, talks, sings, poops and looks cute.
My daughter loves it and my mother is walking around the house holding it like it’s real.
Best girls gift.
What did you get for your son? What about wheelies?--those wheels in the sneaker heel type of things?
Let us know what you ended up with (for future reference for my oldest)
I have finished just need to wrap I have two Christmas puddings on the stove at the moment and considering it is very hot and humid here today in Sydney the house is even hotter. I hope everyone has a wonderful Crissy and new year
Have Fun
Helen
Nothing left to buy, thank goodness. I did forget one teeny thing I wanted to buy for DH’s stocking, but uh...’que sera sera’ and all that. He’s already spoilt to death this year by myself AND my parents. Since we travel until New Year’s, we’re doing Christmas tonight (in about 15 minutes, actually, as soon as the EPL Review Show ends), so I’m glad to be done.
The guitar & rock shirts sound GREAT, Carolyn!!! I just yelled into the living room that when we have kids, I want to get them “cool” musical instruments, lessons, and lurid biographies of famous musicians for Christmas. DH (much more conservative than me) wasn’t amused.
Go with the guitar. Did I mention what fun they are to wrap?
And I might have mentioned this but ahh, I finished last week
Eloisa,
I ventured out into the shops today. Yikes! What a madhouse! And all I was looking for was a quirky gift for my 91-yr old friend--no problem, right?? LOL! I must be out of my mind. On the bright side, I did find her red satin pj’s (you have to meet this woman to know that this is the perfect gift for her!). Maybe if I’m just mad enough, I’ll venture out again tomorrow...and if I have an ounce of sanity, I’ll blow it off, buy gift cards for anybody I missed, and stay inside watching Love Actually...
How did your shopping go? Did you find the doll?? I’m figuring the fairy dust would have been a bit trickier...LOL!
Smiles,
LdyB
Good luck, Eloisa! I’m finished with my shopping--finally completed it yesterday.
And I just finished wrapping everything. Time to start baking.....
Happy Holidays, Everyone.
